Hopefully they send out an email to the guidance counselors again so we know when to check
@18class the standard release time is around 4 pm central time, so I wouldn’t wait all day in front of your computer
There will be a wave tomorrow according to people on the UT board. 17000 people will hear tomorrow and 170000 will hear thursday
@skdlfjl did they say if there will be deferrals or if they will all be decisions?
@skdlfjl what UT board are you referring to?
Someone that goes to UT just said that their mentor was just at a meeting in which they discussed releasing 17000 decisions tomorrow and 17000 more thursday. I meant 17000 above for thursday. Both days are 17000
Hm. Not sure about it- the only sure thing is the counselor updates they always send out before releasing anything… and they haven’t sent one out yet this week
I wouldn’t be surprised if they did because 34,000 at once would probably crash the system
They have 34000 unprocessed priority applicants?!? No wonder they have had such a hard time getting this done by Feb 1!
I can not figure out how to attach a picture, but I too sent a DM to the UT Austin Admissions on Twitter and received this response
“We will not be sending out deferrals. If you completed your application on Nov. 1, you will receive a final admissions decision on or before Feb. 1. There are only two exceptions –– if you applied to Fine Arts or Architecture, you’ll get a notification that those programs need more time to give you a final decision. Because their applications include additional elements like portfolios, they are still in the application review process.”
If we applied priority to the honors programs, will we be notified by Thursday as well? I’ve already been admitted to UT.
What honors program did you apply to? There are many.
How did the person find out that the UT admissions board was going to release 17,000 tomorrow and 17,000 thursday?
I applied on October 10th but applied to honors on nov 6, does that count as priority or regular?
i applied to health science scholars on 9/18… wondering if i’ll get a response as well. but if i’m not admitted then i can’t be admitted to honors
I DMed the UT twitter asking about the 17,000 on Wednesday/Thursday and they gave me the “Sorry, no news on that!” response that they give everyone, haha
A UT student told me. Their mentor was in the meeting and told about the 17000 and the mentor told the UT student who i know and they told me.
@minimango Plan 2, Dean’s Scholars, Liberal Arts Honors, Human Ecology Honors…
If UT is planning on releasing 17K admissions tomorrow and Thursday, does that mean they’ve made their decisions on these applicants for a long time OR does it mean that they went through them incredibly quickly to get the decisions out by tomorrow/Thursday?? Because the wave last Friday was only 200 people… So if they already had the decisions finalised, why not have them released last Friday instead of waiting til tomorrow/Thursday?
@kvpop1 Either way, that’s pretty bad
