UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

Someone in the UT22 GroupMe was also rejected from McCombs with high stats

Any liberal arts deferred?

Decision posted:

Ok, I am very angry,

My son was an Auto-Admit from a 6A school (largest high schools in Texas, so very competitive) , 790 SAT-2 Math, 1520 SAT. 35 ACT, 5 AP Computer science, National AP Scholar. Studied 2nd year CS @Stanford last summer.

AND WAS REJECTED FROM COMPUTER SCIENCE AS A MAJOR.

I am beyond pissed at UT.

anyone hear from UGS? also are all rejections in state?

Yes I just checked ut website.

No decision yet and it’s 6:25 pm for me, finished my app way back in October 5th.

@TexArt Did you check it at 6 as well or is this the first time? Trying to figure out if they’re updating through the evening or they did it all at 6

I don’t understand why people with high stats are getting rejected…

anyone hear from education?

My S status still says “Your application is still being considered for admission to your requested majors.”,

@c5texas I think I️t means you can still get into ut just no decision yet on architecture since it’s a separate application. That’s what I’m getting from it

Anyone hear UGS?

@TexArt CS is very competitive and very holistic- kids who have been part of start ups and have their own apps are the kind of kids who go to CS at UT. sorry about your son- hope he has another plan in place.

Instate non auto admit
Still in review for medical Laboratory Science
No message about feb 27

has anyone heard of anybody getting into Mccombs in today’s wave?

I am definitely worried since people with high stats are being rejected for McCombs. I am not an auto admit but my scores are not as high as some who have been rejected. I just want to know at this point. It still says in review

@tb2000 I highly doubt the entire undergraduate class created their own app and had a start up (which their parents probably helped to fund) @TexArt thats ridiculous, never should have happened.

No acceptance today

@TexArt I am stunned that your son was rejected from CS. What in the world is going on this year?

@student1322 high stats kids get rejected every single year- only half of the acceptance formula has to do with numbers. The other half is essays, resume recommendations essays etc. - you cannot get into ANY major at UT if that half of your app is not strong… period.
