Hey Everyone! I don’t think we are gonna hear back on decisions until around early May. I was looking at the 2019 fall transfer thread and they didn’t start posting acceptances until about May 6th…such a long time to wait though, makes me nervous :frowning:

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a little piece of knowledge, I didn’t get my acceptance until June 12 soooooo :frowning:

Just hang tight!

Geesh, some schools want you to commit by May 1. There should be something more uniform. Why cause the stress and complications (and loss of deposits) for so many people?

If you don’t mind, would you care to talk about your application and the major you were accepted in?

I feel like last year’s Fall transfer discussion forum was much more active than this year’s LOL

Per TexAdmissions blog, “if” you have 24 hours or more on your transcript by the time you applied for transfer, it is possible to hear as early as mid-April and continue through mid-June. Here’s hoping some responses start to roll out soon! Good luck everyone!

Do you guys think COVID-19 will have much of an effect on the transfer admissions process? Would it be more competitive?

I read an article in the WSJ about how COVID-19 has/will potentially affect admissions for this fall and they predicted it would make it easier to get into certain competitive universities. Supposedly with all the economic uncertainty universities are over-compensating their admissions numbers to ensure they’re filled when it enrollment comes. There’s a good chance that international students who are currently enrolled will not be able to return for the upcoming fall semester. The article was primarily about Freshman admissions though, so it’s hard to say whether or not UT’s transfer admissions will be affected. Just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait; it’s not like we have much else to do!

@andrewsonnguyen I guess not that many people are anxiously awaiting decisions this year

I’m here lurking as well. God I hope we hear something back sooner rather than later, June is so late to hear back from them.

Just a heads up to anyone who actually looks at this forum: my friend just got a message this morning on her MyStatus saying she’s been deferred until she sends her Spring Semester grades.

Finally someone heard something.

That’s a pretty normal thing right?

They usually ask for spring grades if you don’t have the required 24 credit hours needed for evaluation or if they feel your GPA isn’t as competitive as they’d like to see. Looking at last year’s transfer thread, if they didn’t ask to see your spring semester grades then they don’t consider them in your admissions decision.

I read on the UTadmissions blog that another poster mentioned earlier that we may hear back today after 5p.m… He said mid April on Fridays after 5 p.m. is when the first wave of decisions come out, but they vary from year to year.

What’s everybody’s desired majors?

@CNSteph Neuroscience, I have bio-chem as a secondary but I don’t know if transfers are actually considered if we aren’t accepted into our first choice

@CNSteph Public Relations with my second choice as advertisement!

Environmental Science is my first choice! I really hope we all hear back soon.
