@jesse’sgirl I’m an international transfer. So I guess that’s why I heard back earlier than others?
Hey Guys! So I was looking through the threads reliving the memories of when I looked through these and I wanted to say a few things. First of all I was an external transfer into the IRG program at UT and I came from a community college. With my extracurriculars, high GPA, and graduating with honors I was admitted into the school. I found out (along with most people) within the week of June 15, so yeah it’s a waiting game. I know it’s a really stressful time right now, believe me I know, but you will get through it and be at the school you are meant to be at!!!
Hello everyone,
I’m new to this thread so, nice to e-meet all of you ! I was recently admitted to UT McCombs School of Business as an international transfer. However, I’m still not sure whether I should enroll or not.
I’m currently studying at a CC in California. Also, my first choice school is UC Berkeley Haas. However, I’m still waiting on their decision as I was on their waitlist list.
I wasn’t really interested in UT at first as I saw that UT wasn’t particularly fond of admitting international students. Furthermore, McCombs is one of the competitive majors at UT. Regardless, I’m thankful for the decision.
Hence, I have several questions (I hope you guys can give some thoughtful opinions about it) before deciding which university I should go to:
- Which one do you guys think is a better school: UC Berkeley Haas or UT Austin McCombs?
- Can I transfer my CC credits to UT as I’m from an out-of-state institution? If so, do you guys know whom I should contact?
- How’s the city Austin overall?
Is it a busy city or are there lots of crime and is it difficult to find an internship or job there?
Thank you, everyone!
Hello- Are the decisions for McCombs internal transfer already out? It says the deadline is 06/04.
Has anyone received a decision for external transfer to Mccombs?
Applied instate to English major. Still “in review”. Has anyone heard back from those? I’d read around that Liberal Arts majors are usually supposed to be the first to hear back.
I applied as an external transfer to McCombs. Still nothing yet. Not expecting anything till the 12th or after.

A CAP wave hit this am before 9. Several were International Relations applicants.
@James80 thanks for sharing that! My daughter is still waiting for her cap decision but she did say she saw an IRG major and an economics major who got in today. She saw the news in her group chat.
