I have searched several place but do not know much about Social Work acceptance for pre-major. Anyone else applying for Spring?
Do financial aid decisions come out with acceptances or later?
When do we get our housing contracts? I submitted my housing application for spring 2020 and haven’t gotten notification from UT housing.
@TroianBacon we don’t get housing contracts till we’re accepted unfortunately
By then, all the dorms will have already filled up? What are we suppose to do about on campus housing?
@TroianBacon Look for non-dorms, it is cheaper to live in an apartment and most of all are walking distance. Go onto the facebook page for UT housing and find a roommate, it is cheapest that way and nicer and more spacious than dorms, due to usually getting your own room
I am just worried about housing since I rely on financial aid (loans + grants) for that. Does financial aid cover off campus housing? If not, I don’t know how I’ll afford to live in an apartment.

Spring term admits and transfers are basically to fill newly-available spaces, and those spaces can become available at the last minute. So it’s not surprising that some of us might not get good news until late in the game or slide in on appeal. Wreaks havoc on housing and financial aid planning, though. If I get a late admit, I may just take some online classes until I find housing and can move.
Has anyone attempted to run an internal audit? I was looking through last year’s spring transfer thread and got the idea of doing an IDA from them. Surprisingly, I was able to see mine. All my dual credit coursework have been accepted and are transferable.
Thanks, TroianBacon – what a great suggestion. Ran it, and everything I had transferred. Does our GPA start all over once we transfer into UT?? The IDA didn’t calculate a GPA, unless I overlooked it.

I ran mine and two courses dont count. will they still count for my gpa?
TroianBacon may know a shorter way, but I accessed it this way: MyStatus homepage > upper right UT Direct Home (orange house)>Popular Student Links on left side > 7th down is Interactive Degree Audit > left side navigation “Audit Request.” Takes about one minute.
I believe our GPA starts over once we transfer.
Why is this thread so empty? Previous years have always been very active.
How long before status changes to “in review”? It has been 3 weeks and still no IDA showing completed.
@TroianBacon I think it’s either because not a lot of people are transferring this year or not a lot of people aren’t posting.
There may be a lot of applicants just watching this thread to see when the acceptances start rolling in. I know I was, before jumping in and posting.
I’m so nervous for decisions to roll out. Transfer admissions have been getting so intense and competitive!
