UV Protect Film on Windows, DIY or Professionals

I need to put some UV protect film on the windows, material cost will be about $200. Has anyone done that DIY or should I seek professional help?

I hired someone, mostly because every window in the house is thru-pane divided, so lots of little squares. If they were larger single panes, I think DH would have done it. It does seem to be a job that requires a lot of patience, they wet the windows, apply the film and then remove the air bubbles.

Check around for quotes, I was surprized at the difference. Ask how they define window–it can means each individual square of glass. When you have a lot of small panes, that adds up. Others priced by the area.

We’ve had our film on the windows for about 10 years, it’s made a big difference in our home.
