UVA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

I see, yeah a moderator messaged me about it lol, have to get up to 15 substantial posts

@l2kids I definitely do not think it is fatal, there is still a month and they are still making decisions. However I do wonder how they make decisions. Do they go through all the applications and rank them or do they admit as they go, doesn’t make much sense for them to admit people without going through all the applications. Furthermore that was last year and it could definitely be fixed by this year. We should just wait and drop the worrying because there is nothing that we can do now than to continue to work hard at our current institutions.

do you think that everyone who has inquiry access denied right now has gotten accepted?? @JSTECK22

I have two friends who have inquiry access denied now, is this a sign yet or no? Is it too early? Can it still go away?

@msport You indirectly addressed me by bringing up both of my majors (Econ and Math) so thanks for the heads up.

Can someone please confirm that you won’t see “inquiry access denied” if you don’t submit financial aid?
I’m afraid it might be a sign but I’m not sure how much of one it is if I never even submit any information in the first place.

@uvafall2019oof Its just my theory that those who have inquiry access denied have already been processed and accepted by UVa. However im pretty sure that if you don’t have inquiry access denied right now its not a death sentence, for example i’ve seen some who are doing guaranteed admission not have it yet. Also it just doesn’t make common sense for them to be done accepting apps with 3 more weeks to go. But it could honestly be anything, until more people start reporting that their financial aid status changes we can’t really come to any conclusions.

I’m so confused, are you guys checking the my uva application portal ? or something else ?

inquiry access denied would be on SIS under financial aid, not the application status portal, however we do think that the decision will be released on the uva application status portal https://sisuva.admin.virginia.edu/psp/ihprd/UVSS/SA/h/?tab=PAPP_GUEST
@Confusedaf98

Thank you - I did not ask for financial aid, so the “inquiry access denied” checking is not available to me.

does anyone know how competitive psychology is? i know econ and a couple of other majors are competitive.

My SIS says no info found for financial aid but I also did not apply for financial aid. Is this normal as I didn’t apply for FA? Did anybody last year have “no info found” and get accepted?

@bigguy318 from what I can gather, we are the most in the dark when it comes to the status. I don’t have financial aid info even from VT since I never submitted anything to them either. It’s impossible to say anything for certain though.

Hey guys - I transferred to UVA the Fall of 2017 and am set to graduate from here in a month. I remember being in your position 2 years ago and stressing out over a bunch of little things.

Randomly thought about this website today and am having a major flashback of when I was in your shoes. I’m glad to answer any questions about the process and be of any help that I can. Feel free to reach out!

@va2pittsburgh hi! if you don’t mind me asking, what major are you and what do you think helped you gain admission at UVA (GPA, essays, etc)? also, congradulations on graduating in the spring

I recently just submitted my FAFSA. Does UVA email you when it has been processed?

Is it ok if i’m short on a few of the transfer requirements? I definitely qualify in every other metric

@turnoverchain22 It depends on what courses, how many and which school you’re applying to

@hawaii01 I submitted mine a few months ago and never got a confirmation email.

Unless something has changed, McIntire requires phone interviews for applicants they are considering before making a decision. @WatchYouWant has “inquiry access denied” which leads me to believe that seeing the screen probably doesn’t indicate admission or denial anymore, since this year is also the first year UVA has had the separate application status portal. If I had to take a guess, it probably just indicates your financial aid has been processed.
