UVA out of state

Would someone who lives in maryland have a better chance of getting in than a person that lives in california…hypothetically…even though they are both out of state

Aperson from Maryland might even have a worse chance of getting in to UVa because probably a lot of people from Maryland apply to UVa and colleges like to have some geographical diversity.

California and Maryland have decent numbers of people applying to UVA. Someone from Alaska might have a better chance, since the university always like to say that they have people from all 50 states over the country.
