UVa Presidential Hopefuls

Hey guys,

2008 may be the year another Virginia Alum becomes President (Woodrow Wilson attended Virginia).

On the Republican side:

Senator George Allen (Va): Former Governor of Virginia, UVa Undergrad and Law - Considered front-runner for the GOP by May 2 survey conducted by the National Journal (yes, that’s right, front-runner over Bill Frist)

On the Democratic side:

Senator Evan Bayh (Indiana): Former Governor of Indiana, UVa Law - Considered one of the top VP candidates if he doesn’t win the nomination.

If either one wins, Virginia will be well represented in the House, the Senate, and the Executive Branch. Unless Miers is rejected by the Senate, Virginia Alums will have to wait a few years to have a chance at the Supreme Court (I think though, we have already had 3 Justices before)

so proud of uva, it;s probably one of the most (if not the most) historically significant universties in US. the cornerstone of our first building was laid in the hands of Thomas Jefferson, James Madision and James Monroe…what other university can match that?
our campus (Ground) is on the United Nation World Heritage Status list, the only college campus in US (possibly in the world) that’s on that list.

you want tradition? come to UVa. no other school comes close.

Just bringing up this post for prospectives.
