@jenny4399, No problem :)

Hey that’s awesome @jenny4399 hope to see you at the A&O! You and I seem to be following a similar track :)

@Candela2 thanks so much for sticking around and fielding questions with all your experience!

@jenny4399

Hey! You stated “(for instance for international transfers that might not get their info packet for quite some time)”
Why?? I am international transfer and would like to know the reason if you are aware of it!

Thanks! And congrats!

@nornorbalina, No problem I’ve been using CC as a distraction while waiting for orientation day XD

@Uw20166 from what I read it’s because it takes longer for the mail to get to them, so they might include that information in the acceptance packet. I can’t remember where I read it, but I believe it was in a College Confidential forum. I have read years and years of these forums, so it’s hard to remember when I saw it.

@jenny4399

Okay! Thank you!

This is kind of off topic, but I heard from several current UW students that the parking there is so bad that you’re better off taking the bus there for the most part. Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah the parking is expensive and not readily available. I personally plan on taking the bus to UW.

From WA CC student, parking is bad and it is hard to find parking spots. Traffic is also bad for I-5 most of the time. You are better off taking bus to UW in my opinion.

Congratulations to those who got in ! <:-P I bet you guys could finally BREATHE after the long wait.
I’m still waiting for my decision here. My unofficial transcript hasn’t load either, and it’s absolutely dreadful to check the mailbox and see nothing there.

That sucks. To get to the UW by bus, I would have to make several transfers, which will probably be just as inconvenient. I guess the only way is to stop by a Park & Ride.

Hi everyone! It’s been super helpful to read everyone’s stats and info about transferring! My unofficial transcripts finally loaded around six tonight so I thought I’d post my info in case it might help someone out
Well my senior year of high school I applied to UW and got in.
In state, 3.8 gpa, 1800 sat, AP/honors classes, band, drama, sports, asb, blah blah blah
I ended up picking a private four year Christian school in Los Angeles.
I went there for a year and a half and was apart of the schools honors program, volunteered a little, 3.4 gpa. I was really concerned because I only had 46 units from that school, and I didn’t think UW would accept so little transfer credits.
I think I had a really strong essay, I talked about my passion for my career aspiration and why I wanted UW, and also about my last semester where I finished on the dean’s list while taking max units, working a night shift at a coffee shop and also being in outpatient recovery for anorexia.
I do have a question for everyone that had their transcripts load. Mine says I’m apart of the arts and science college and have a pre social-science major. I’m a political science major. Does pre-social science mean I got into the political science program? Or does it just say that for everyone?
Thank you!!!

@julialovesthesun When the transcripts first load, the default college is always “Arts and Sciences”. This is merely a placeholder until you attend future orientation and counseling sessions to sort out your transcript. The same goes for the major.

@choi57 Hang in there! It’ll load when you least expect it!

@potatomawnster Depending on where you live, the Sounder is a great option too! But if you live somewhere further south like the Oly/Lacey area, check out the commuter page:

<a href=“Getting to UW | Transportation Services”>Getting to UW | Transportation Services;

You’re pretty savvy, so I’m sure you’ve probably seen it at some point, but if you haven’t, some other cool services available are the Vanpool and Rideshare options. They are available for prospective students looking to visit! I can almost guarantee there will be a good chunk of people looking to commute in your location, so post a need ASAP on Zimride or something and see what happens! L

Let us know if you find a better option, because I’m curious myself! I was planning on the Sounder when I head up for the A&O.

Wow I’ve been stressing as well as many of you guys and I found this awesome thread! My transcripts haven’t loaded yet but the weird thing is that I’ve been accepted for financial aid at UW Seattle. Does that mean anything?

Hey guys!
I applied to both UW Seattle and Bothell. I got into Bothell and my unofficial transcript stated UW Bothell with my major and just my foriegn language credits at the bottom of the page.
It now says junior status with the arts and sciences as the major rather than Bothell. It also has some added highschool credit info at the bottom. Is this change an indication that I was admitted into Seattle?

Thanks for any help!

@somi10 I applied to UW Seattle and Tacoma. I got into Tacoma and my unofficial transcript still lists Tacoma and History as my major. The fact that your transcript no longer displays Bothell is probably a positive sign of acceptance to Seattle. I hope mine changes soon.

Thanks @wils2797 ! I hope you get accepted! I hope you’re right. Ill be on the lookout for the actual letter. Fingers are crossed that it’ll come soon…

@Uw20166 you were asking about the information packet, and I finally found where I saw the information about it for international transfers.

http://admit.washington.edu/Admission/Admitted

It says:
Look for the Welcome packet that will arrive several days to a week after your letter of admission. The packet will come in a 9 x 12 white envelope and contains everything you will need to become a Husky, that is, confirm your intention to enroll, sign up for required Advising & Orientation, apply for on-campus housing, take placement tests, and more.
International applicants living outside the U.S.: You will receive instructions about how to access an online version of the Welcome, so you don’t have to wait for mail delivery.

I hope this helped with your worries and questions regarding the info packet and how it is handled with international students

For those of you who just had your unofficial transcripts load over the last couple days…can you let us all know when you receive acceptance in the mail and when your deposit it due by?? Would greatly appreciate it!!
