UW Autumn 2014 Transfer Thread

@nornorbalina Congrats! Does the welcome letter by any chance tell you when the deposit is due? (Since that’s how people have been estimating when the batches occur) Keeping my fingers crossed!

Got my acceptance letter in mail today too~!! So happy but I already committed to go to UW Tacoma~~ What happens to me~~ Anyone knows?? hahaha… Just for anyone who’s interested, I didn’t get my unofficial transcript loaded for UW Seattle.

@amyd01‌
I think you are the first person who got the letter without unofficial transcript loaded. If you really want to attend UW Seattle, contact both institution in case Seattle will accept you.

Good luck!

To all hopeful Biology majors. I just found some new information about the Biology major. As I am sure you are aware of it has now become a competitive major. Here is the important things I have found, you no longer have until the third week to walk in and apply now you have to do it online and by the second week. Here is what it says:

Applications for the undergraduate degree programs in Biology will be accepted quarterly. A completed electronic application will be due the second Friday of Autumn, Winter, Spring, & Summer quarters by 11:59pm. Applications received by the system after the quarterly cut off will be considered for the subsequent quarter. The first On-Line Application will be available in June 2014.

This information can all be found at this website: <a href=“University of Washington Transfer eNewsletter”>University of Washington Transfer eNewsletter;

@gilmorej‌ Thank you!!! It didn’t have a specific date, all it said was to look out for the large welcome packet later on in the mail!

@jenny4399‌ hey I saw that site too! Have you come across any info about applying online? What I am gathering is it seems to be facilitated through advising; as in there isn’t anything just openly available online to start filling out.

@nornorbalina‌ wait if there is no deposit due day? Then does that mean that was the last batch of admission letters?

When should I send in my last semester transcript? After/If I become admitted?

@sywso1 don’t freak out yet :smiley: All @nornorbalina and the others have gotten so far is the acceptance letter, all that is in that envelope to my knowledge is the acceptance letter. Later on in a few days or so they will get the welcome packet, that has all of the information about what needs to be done, and this is where it will tell them about how to pay their deposit, as well as when their deposit must be paid by in order to reserve their spot. I just didn’t want anyone freaking out yet when I am sure there are tons of more acceptance letters waiting to be sent out. @xoxoyazyxoxo With the transcript I spoke to an admissions counselor and they said not to send in extra transcripts, unless there was an important reason to do so. For instance if you haven’t completed all the requirements to be accepted into UW, English classes, foreign language, and all of the other classes they want students to have taken. If this is the case and you were completing acceptance requirements in your last quarter this is when you would need to send in a transcript. However, if you can get through and talk to an adviser then it never hurts to explain your situation and figure out what is best for you to do.

Yes, jenny4399 is correct, the deposit due date comes with the white welcome packet, which generally arrives 1 or 2 days after the gold acceptance letter. Though occasionally, some students get the white welcome packet first.

Congratulations to everyone accepted, and good luck to those of you still waiting. The first A&O session for transfers is on the 25th of July, and I’ve heard that sometimes people are still being accepted within a couple of weeks of that date. So there’s still some time.

@amyd01 I was accepted by UW Tacoma and I’m still waiting on a response from Seattle. Did your unofficial transcript still say UW Tacoma when you received your acceptance letter from Seattle? I still haven’t committed to UW Tacoma yet. They told me I had until the 1st of August to commit.

@wils2797‌ The transcript didn’t load for UWS. I’m going to UWT because I had a timeline to finish college and I didn’t get into Foster school of business for fall quarter… Also, I have to commute to Seattle from Federal way, and I heard it is frustrating, and exhausting. I really wanted to go to Seattle but I’m really satisfied with just the acceptance… :frowning: Anyways… Good luck with your admissions dude. Come to Tacoma if you don’t have to go to Seattle hahahahaha… ;D

Plus, I only had 2 weeks to commit to UW Tacoma… It’s so unfair that u have about 2 months… dang…

I just got my letter. It’s just a regular sized dark yellow envelope with a congratulatory letter. It notes that I should get my packet soon. Regardless, I’m still happy. I hope everyone who got their transcripts to load on Tuesday gets their letter today or tomorrow. :smiley: To everyone else, the next batch should come out soon, but things will be quite for a while. Good luck!

My transcript loaded on Tuesday and my letter came today as well (I live in Seattle so for those out of town it may take another day). I will be sure to post back with the date of when the deposit is due if no one else has by then :slight_smile: Good luck to everyone!!!

Hey all! My transcript also loaded Tuesday followed by a letter today. Now waiting on the packet. Congrats to everyone who received theirs and good luck to everyone waiting on theirs!

Got my letter too!!! Looking forward to the packet. Good luck to everyone else!

Got my acceptance letter!

Mine loaded Tues, got letter today! SO HAPPY

I finally got my acceptance letter as well, my transcript also loaded Tuesday!!!

Hey all!! Got my acceptance packet! I love my hubby, he gave it to me attached to my grad gift lol. Not sure which I was more excited for…

The due date for my deposit is June 23! The running hypothesis this community subscribes to right now is the next batch getting sent out might have some kind of correlation to this date! So, all of you still waiting on your unofficials to load might have a date to look forward to if our assumptions continue to prove correct!

High fives all around to everyone who got their BIG envelopes! Hang in there everyone still on the edge of their seats! It will happen when you least expect it…

I got my packet today. I have to pay the deposit by June 24, so the next batch may come out around that time. The whole process was a lot quicker than I anticipated.

Here’s a summary of recent events:
Transcript loaded on June 10
Got the acceptance letter on June 13 (postmarked on June 12 and letter is titled June 11)
Got the acceptance packet on June 14 (postmarked on June 13)

The packet contains several things:
A letter with instructions
An enrollment confirmation form
A form to decline admission (I crumpled that up)
A return envelope and a blank page with your name and address

BTW, it would suck if someone accidentally filled out the form to decline admission and sent it.
