Most of the UW schools are participating in the program with the exception of some of the largest campuses in the system- UW-Madison, UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse.
That is the âDirect Admitâ program. There is another program (The Wisconsin Guarantee) that: âautomatically admits the top 5% of Wisconsin high school seniors to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the fall of 2025 and beyond. The law was signed by Governor Tony Evers in February 2024â
I guess this is the end guys. I just got an email the UW Madison waitlist has been closed and that they are not planning to talk anyone off the waitlist anymore.
Congrats to everyone who got off and fellows like me who havenât, I hope you are happy with your accepted college.

My daughter received an email 25 minutes ago informing her the waitlist is officially closed. 
Does anyone know if they review appeals now that the waitlist is closed?

My daughter got it too. I really feel for all the kids on the waitlistâŠand the parents!! Wisconsin has barely touched the waitlist this year, and it felt very lead onâŠ. from the multiple interest forms, to not accepting anyone off the waitlist for a period of weeks- it really toyed around with these kids feelings. and as a parent, that is heartbreaking for me to see. i really thought we would see one last small wave this week (after the batch they released last week), but I guess I was wrong. They should have closed it a long time ago- it should not have been open this long for them to barely accept anyone. I am curious to see the waitlist stats from this year.
Congrats to all the kids who DID get in off the waitlist!! You will all love Wisconsin- such a great place!! For everyone in the same position as my daughter, you will thrive at your current colleges and do many great things!!! Donât let this define you!!

Yes, she got the dreaded email, which is OK since sheâs really happy with her choice. And she is fired up for the first meeting of her team v UW! So thatâs a good way to spin it positive. Youâve all been great. This has been the best parent forum. Good luck to all!
Unless Wisconsin reveals stats in news articles at the start of the school year, weâll have to wait until Feb/March when they release official Common Data Set data.
Funny my daughter was commited by May 1 and didnât even get 1 of her top 8 dormsâŠsheâs by the lake and wanted witte!! Wanna switch
