Hi Apollo6, I’m applying this year through the Italian committee, does your daughter know any Italian student who can give some advice for the selection process?
thank you immensely

I suggest trying the UWC USA Facebook page to get in touch with current UWC students.

What time do you think the emails will be sent from the US Selection committee?

When the e-mails were sent regarding interviews, we received it between 3-4 PM, EST. My guess is it will follow that same standard.

unfortunately I don’t have facebook…:-(

Okay, Lynxeye, I’ll see what I can do. So you’re a current Italian applicant? When is your interview?

Has anyone in the U.S. gotten an email? I’m getting nervous!!!

Nothing here! Sorry! It’s driving me crazy, too.

My son’s going to Atlantic College! Yay (and what a relief, second time’s the charm)!

Got into Pearson College!

I’m from USA - message me for Facebook contact!

I got into UWC Swaziland!!! Thank god that email finally came!!!

I’ll be going to UWC-USA

Congratulations, Trumpetman and Shamu! Raising a virtual champagne glass and toasting your next adventure!

Congratulations, Ashbry8! You’ll love New Mexico! For a Midwesterner the landscape is so different you might as well be in a different country. The students are great, the faculty is excellent, the food is very good and the whole place is so relaxed. You’re in for a wonderful two years!

Be sure to have your son become a member of the International UWC 2013-2015 group and the AC one on Facebook!

LOL No Facebook access in China. ;)

Hi all - Congratulations to everyone who received a placement at UWC. Unfortunately, Kyle did not. While he is disappointed, I am happy to report that he has some amazing opportunities coming his way the next year, so it is all good. As Kyle is a recent cancer survivor, he understands and appreciates the need to “seize the day” and make the most out of what life gives you, good or bad. I think that is a great lesson for all of us.

Apollo6, I am sorry that I could not respond to your DM, but since I am not a frequent enough poster to this site, it blocked me from replying - strange, huh? Also, since Kyle is competing in California this week at an international competition, I needed to negotiate time differences and schedules to talk with him before posting here.

We’re off to do traditional college searches now! Good luck and God bless!

Does anyone know anything about the waitlist? My D was waitlisted and we are still hoping she gets in. Anyone know what the chances are? How long the waitlist is? Any info would be great!

yes, I’m an Italian applicant, and my interview is tomorrow:-/

LynxEye, I’m not having any luck getting in touch with Italians at UWC USA who have CC accounts. My advice to you is to look over the mission of UWC and think about how your life shows your interest in the mission. Think about both what you would gain and what you would contribute at a UWC. Read up on international events, especially ones that have affected Italy. In the past Italian students at UWC USA have done seminars on Immigration into Europe and the euro crisis. Practice your responses to a few questions if you can, then just relax and think positively. Good luck!
