im rly interested in the LSM program, and it is my dream to get into the program. I have 2 things I have decided to focus on for my essays, but im not sure if these are the best options.

1) I founded DECA, a marketing organization that is rival to FBLA, at my school, which is majorly FBLA. I got a lotta crap, and i went through a lot to found it, and now its a success. The reason i started it was because i wasnt too happy with the way my school’s FBLA chapter was run. Would this be something good to discuss on my essay?

or

2) my experience at Intel ISEF. Meeting the different minds who will probably be future millionaires. I worked at a biomedical engineering lab, and got a lot outta this experience.

both of these ideas are very passionate to me, but im wondering which would be the best hook for me,

well… neither of them are hooks, hooks are things like being african american, a legacy, or a super duper athlete. I would go with Essay topic 1, cause it says something about you, I feel like the second one about the Intel thing could turn into you just talking about how amazing everyone else was, and forgetting about the most important person, you. Just my 2 cents.

thanks man, but do u think it would be okay to discuss my unhappiness with the FBLA program at my school due to the system in which they selected officers? or does that sound too selfish?

by negative i mean, discussing why i didnt like the FBLA chapter at my school, and the things i wanted to change about it. i mean is it wrong for me to express my real reason for creating the club?
