Valentine's day - who is celebrating?

I know my girls want to get married and have children. The younger one isn´t dating yet, but I know D1 is happy when she is in a good relationship.

The thread must stop right here. I have to know about See’s. I had never heard of them, but they have crossed my path several times in the last few days.

Do I want See’s? Are they better than other candy? What are your thoughts on the “make your own box” thing? I’m very impressed with the selection of nut options.

I got Godiva, which I appreciated (and ate), but it seems to have lost its oomph a little bit. We usually get Wilbur, which is my all time favorite, but See’s is really catching my attention.

“Do I want See’s?”

yes…you want See’s. Super fresh and a California institution.

What difference does it make if you make someone happy on a day when lots of other people are doing the same thing? For the “don’t tell me what to do” crowd I always wonder if it’s more about control than the principle.

DH sent the flowers I was expecting. What a guy! He had them delivered to work for all to see, which was a little fun.

I am cooking tonight. The heart shaped brownies sound good. I wonder whether I can find my pans?

Yes, you want Sees candy, order a box. It is wonderful candy if you find the ones you like. Try a make your own box!

Starbright- I guess you probably celebrate Christmas in July? I mean- I wouldn’t want anyone to make you believe Jesus was born in December?

My husband did was he always does, give me a mixed bouquet and a homemade card. I’ll do what I always do which is make a special dinner. (Grilled steak, mushrooms, artichokes with hollandaise and a brownie sundae this year. And wine or champagne.)

MD mom, read your post way too fast…

"I am cooking tonight. The heart shaped brownies sound good.I wonder whether i can find my PANTS? "

Lol, I re-read it to make sure that is not what I said.

Wish u All HaPPy ValenTiNe’s DaY

performersmom, this year is our 30th anniv. too…in June.

Neither of my S’s has a gf so I do what I can!

I rarely spend money on cards. I sent S1 (birthday boy) a card I dug out of a pile of notecards in the closet. It had flowers all over the front and a blank inside in which I wrote…“Just ignore the flowers…Happy Birthday S1”. For his b-day I sent a Barnes&Noble E-gift card and ordered a pair of his favorite shoes (Vans) from Zappos. He’ll love both.

I didn’t send S2 (broke college student) a card at all but did transfer $15 into his bank acct. in case his gang of friends (a guy/girl mix) decide to all go out together tonight. He sent me back a text that said “thanks mom, love you”…enough for me!

S1 has a date tonight, and not a first date with this girl. The exciting news is this is the first time he has ever told us he has a date – didn’t give us the girl’s name, but we know he is dating someone.

LOL at lololu!

I’m a heart-shaped meatloaf for dinner tonight. That’s as romantic as we get.

Went to order See’s candy… how do you only pick ten!?

See’s are not at all sophisticated, just yummy.

Aww… got another bouquet of roses from DH, delivered to the office. Apparently they were supposed to arrive yesterday but did not. What a guy.

awwwwwwww

10 char

We were discussing cards at work today and one of my co-workers said that last year she gave her husband a card and he said that it looked familiar. He then proceeded to shuffle through his drawer where he keeps his cards from years past and pulled out the exact card. One of my clever co- workers said: “Nothing’s changed.”

Actually I just noticed that the office bouquet (not to be confused with the home bouquet) has some starburst lilys in it too. I had them in my weddig bouquet. I doubt hew remembered that, though I do buy them periodically. In fact I planted them in the yard but the gardeners dug them up :(
