There was a withdraw button, but it disapeared for everyone about 2 weeks ago
4.0/4.6 GPA, 15 APs, 36 ACT, overall pretty decent resume. But I donāt think it has much to do with stats at this point. They offer 2 rounds of ED. S24 knew this would be tough, as a sibling who did not apply ED. . .No FA assigned. He knew that going in, but was not willing to give up weighing all his options. As a sibling today is going to sting quite a bit.
Does it say WHERE itās coming from? Is this via USPS, or FedEx / UPS?
What do you mean by āsiblingā? Did you mean you have another child attending Vandy now? We are in the same boat, as my D21 is a junior at Vandy. I thought it would be a big boost for D24. I was pretty optimistic because of the sibling thing (and D24ās stats). From my observation, sibling is weighed heavily at Vandy. Both of my D21ās roommates are younger siblings of Vandy alumni. But I guess we never know for sure. BTW, we didnāt apply for FA, thus no FA officer assigned.
My son has similar stats - 4.0 unweighted, high rigor - all Honors and AP courses ( all 5s ), 36 ACT, decent ECs/state and national awards. Applied RD to A&S. He has the FA counselor but Iām not sure if it means anything.
I vividly remeber the withdraw button, Idk what the FA things mean because I did not apply for FA.
now the Visiting thing is confusingggg, cause idkkkk, could you let me know your STATs so that we can try and make some predictionnnn pleaseeee
USPS shipped on 3/19 from Reno, NV so I doubt itās anything from Vandy. It does not say who itās from and Iām thinking they probably wouldnāt mail anything for at least a week anyways.
Has anyone asked the FA office why some people have the counselors listed and others do not? It may be a simple explanation.
I would not normally think Vandy would be so transparent so early to believe the FA thing is āthe tellā however yours was the one that led me to think it was likely!
Correct, a sibling at Vandy now. I think had he had not been accepted to his REA school he may have switched from RA to ED2; maybe not, though. If heās not accepted (and I feel strongly the FA counselor being present for some who applied for FA is a good sign for them), I think Iām probably more disappointed than he will be. Vandyās been a really great experience for my older child.
It must be something new that they are starting this year because I donāt see it being discussed on threads from previous admission cycles.
i am in same boat as you and collegemanifestā¦sibling is a current Vanderbilt senior
do we suspect the financial aid counselor thing has any sort of tell for waitlists, or is it just acceptance/not acceptance
i have been cursed with a bunch of waitlists this cycle
We also have a Vandy older (sophomore) sibling. ND turned him down 2 years ago and he landed in Nashville so if the younger sibling (who is equally qualified) is rejected, sheāll head to ND where sheās already accepted. We were hoping to head out to Indiana this week but sheās hanging on to see what happens tonight. My son knows so many students with siblings in the school.
Iām sure you already know this but stats are pretty irrelevant. Itās fine for everyone to list them. Go ahead, for fun. But IMHO, asking for them just opens a can of worms. The people super proud of their stats will post them and make others feel bad and think they donāt stand a chanceā¦but they do have a chance! Because thereās more to this process than numbers and data. Im certain that my brother is getting into many elite programs because he has character and integrity which cannot be shown on the forum. Heās a incredible PERSON, not a series of stats. So for those of you who read others stats and start to feel hopelessā¦please DONāT! Thereās so much more to you than a short list of data points. But ok, go ahead and list your stats and compare yourselfā¦it wonāt tell you anything.
I get your point. The reason I was asking, which Iām sorry I didnāt make more obvious, was to see if there is something outstanding between those with FA counselors listed vs no FA counselors listed. This is all part of the portal astrology, which for me is fun. From what I can tell, from the small number of people who responded, is that everyone is pretty much on the same playing field.
3/19 is too early, and yeah, Reno, NV doesnāt seem connected.
Any PA so far?
Can someone with the FA counselor please share a screenshot of their portal?
