Vanderbilt Transfer Fall 2010

anyone else get an SGR letter?

I STILL haven’t got anything…

Me neither, I haven’t gotten any decision from them yet. I emailed my counselor early this week she said decisions are still being made through the week and we should have our letters by mid next week.
I sent in my midterm report a few weeks ago even though it isn’t required. So i don’t think I’ll be wait listed or requested for a SGR like the others, probably a strait yes or no.

well i sent in my mid term report and got waitlisted

what were your spring grades?

so people who have gotten letters… what’s this years transfer rate?

Brah, though we may have been accepted, Vandy has not released any information about percentages… think about it, they aren’t done getting all the transfers yet! I’m sure someone will post them somewhere…sometime. :S

ahh of course! I forget how different the freshmen and transfer process are sometimes ayeyiyi

I cannot find information regarding to the rate… And I am sorry to learn that only after the deposit is received can the evaluation of transferable credits start…

I just got a call saying I’ve been accepted from my admissions counselor today… This complicates things

Congratss!!!

TaggartNY…you got off the wait-list right? I think you said earlier that you were wait-listed…and if you got off then there is hope that I may still get in…anyway im gonna continue worrying about VANDERBILT and hoping/praying that I get in :)

I was on the wait-list for just a few days and got off… I don’t know what that’s all about but YES this can only mean that there is indeed hope for getting off of it! Best of luck to everyone.

If I get enough FA I’ll definitely be going, but if they’re stubborn/stingy or something I’ll give my spot to one of my fellow waitlisters. I can’t afford that tuition if they don’t lop off a big chunk of it for me :(

oh yeah there is hope…hope…hope…im flying out to Nashville after my last final to meet with my admin counselor to hopefully put a face w my app and get of this darn waitlist…Vanderbilt is the only school I want to go to next year…and the waitlist is stressing me out soo much…

I take it everyone from the Maryland area is still waiting on a decision?

Congrats, Mr. Taggart. Mind you, their mailing does not say anything about financial aid. In fact, it is slightly underwhelming, but makes clear what the next step is — submitting a 400 dollar deposit. As you won’t be getting anything in the mail regarding the FA, I suggest you call their FA office to see if you can’t find out more details. Here’s to hoping they follow through with a good enough package so you can be a fellow Vandy Transfer come this fall!

Taggart: did u turn in your spring grades and got off?

I’m on hold due to spring grades…I wonder if I have a chance with an sgr

I didn’t send in a sgr or a letter or anything. Two theories - maybe I wasn’t supposed to be waitlisted to begin with, or was somehow considered good enough to be at the “top”? :D

all the chemistry work paid off it seems. My GPA wasn’t stellar either (3.6), but I’m seeing trends suggesting that it’s the difficulty of the classes you take that seems to get you in.

Ahhh man I still have not heard anything at allllll. And I hope they take difficulty into account I’m a chem engineering major, considered most difficult major offered at most schoos. Nothing but chem physics math and some bio classes for me! But I have a 3.58 and a 4.0 this semester ahhhhhhh come on vandy!!!

Yay I got into Vanderbilt today. The aid was decent, but to those of you waitlisted i come bearing good news!

I think I will be declining my offer of admission so hopefully you can get in (I still have not gotten my aid from my top choice). This by no means implies I think Vandy is a bad school, it truly is one of the finest institutions in the world. If I didn’t think so, i would not have paid 70 bucks to apply.

For future applicants I think it would be nice to give my stats so I shall.
