I got accepted today! ![]()
It was a huge shock to me. Here are my stats.
High School GPA- 3.95
Only took 2 AP classes but I did joint enrollment my senior year full time.
SATs- 630 Writing 620 Reading and 570 Math. Not too fantastic…
I’m at Georgia State and have a 3.9. Psych major. My classes weren’t too difficult.
I think my essays were pretty good. For the additional information I recognized my less than stellar SAT scores and said my hard work and dilligence makes up for them.

I also got my acceptance letter today!
Best day of my life!!!

Here are my stats:

High School GPA: 3.91 UW, 4.0 W
High School Class Rank: 23/350
ACT: 30
High School Extracurriculars: Concert Band (First Trumpet), Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout), National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club, Cross Country, Sports Leadership Club

College: University of Tennessee
College GPA: 3.877 (as of midterm report)

College Extracurriculars: Alpha Epsilon Delta (Pre-health honor society) and I volunteer at an inner city elementary school clinic.

I’ve taken a pretty rigorous pre-med schedule. Two honors courses last semester (English and Gen Chemistry I) and one honors course this semester (Gen Chemistry II)

My essay was the pride and joy of my application. I worked so hard on it! It was very specific for vanderbilt. I wrote about how transferring to vanderbilt would benefit me as a pre-med because i was interested in their medicine, health, and society major.

AHHH so excited! I’ll see you guys this fall! Anyone planning on rushing?

You got in I assume??? CONGRATS!!!

I still haven’t heard anything : /

Ops sorry didn’t see you first post lol (I’m on my iPod screen doesn’t show everything at once)

Got my rejection letter today. At least TTU transfers grades, so I can keep my 4.0 (unless Rice admits me, but I’m not so confident after being rejected by Vandy).

As for the difficulty of classes, I’m getting my A.S. in a couple of weeks with a 4.0, including Calculus I and II, Calc-based physics I and II, chem, etc.

Anyway, congrats to those of you who got in.

^ I am sorry basement cat, I was truly rooting for you. You seemed to want vandy a lot

sorry to hear that basementcat =( did you apply anywhere else?

where is my Vandy letter :'(

I’m sorry to hear that! But I do hope you get into Rice!

anyone else get an sgr?

im planning on turning in my current grades soon

@ Basementcat - I can’t believe you weren’t at least waitlisted with those stats!!

Accepted Transfer Students:

I am thinking about creating a facebook group for the transfer students attending in the Fall of 2010. Although College Confidential is a great medium for potential transfer students to converse, I believe the admitted transfer students need a forum to talk about issues we may have after acceptance. For example: housing issues, e-mail issues, and/or transfer credit equivalency issues, etc.

Let me know if you’re interested! I’m about to make the group, so I’ll post the link on here shortly.

rbkhoops21, Did the counselor mean the CommonAPP mid-term report? (Where you go to each professor and ask them to write the grade/sign). I want to do that since my school does not have “official mid-term grades”

You can still use the grades you have half way through the semester. If the “official” mid grades don’t exsist I don’t think it’s a problem because you still have midterm grades they just aren’t organized as official grades.

yes, im using the mid term report from common app. they said that should be fine

accepted. ill join the facebook group.

I haven’t posted a lot on College Confidential, but have been observing these forums constantly while awaiting decisions. I just got my Vanderbilt letter today and got wait listed. Not sure how I can improve my chances. I finish the spring semester in 3 weeks and will be graduating from my community college, so I will send my final grades as soon as possible. I have a good chance of getting a 4.0 for the semester. I’m kind of disappointed but there is not much I can do but look ahead.

Accepted!!!

waitlisted…
so far only one person got off right?
