<p>well, i have a friend that has been offered a place on the waitlist and also got a letter in the mail requesting spring grades after being placed on the waitlist, which is why i was a bit confused… did this happen to anybody else?</p>

<p>Hi~ I wanna know if an international transfer has the chance to get financial aid, either need-based or merit-based, the academic year after the one he got enrolled. Say, I may start learning at Vandy as a sophomore. Do I have chance to receive FA when entering Junior year? How big is the chance? How much will the aid help? I have not applied for FA when applying for admission, but it turns out that the expense is really an obstacle. Thanks. Good luck to everyone!</p>

<p>generally colleges do not give financial aid to those that started out full pay, unless they can document catastrophic changes from one year to the next. (ie realizing you cant pay while having the same income wouldnt qualify). I think the best thing to do is get in touch with Vandy financial aid office and post that question to them – they should be pretty open with you.</p>

<p>Thanks. I expect such results, but just cherishing the tiny hope that there might be a chance. I will contact the office. I just feel guilty to spend nearly all my parens’ savings for my own purpose. Thanks again.</p>

<p>Granted that the cost of attendance for me at all of the schools that I get into is roughly the same after financial aid awards, I’ll probably turn down Vanderbilt. If their yield isn’t want they expect, that’s one more open spot for someone off the waitlist :).</p>

<p>I got in, and I am so, so excited, but I was curious as to how possible it is for a transfer to pledge in a decent sorority? I don’t know a single person in Tennessee, let alone Vanderbilt, and I really want a way to meet people!</p>

<p>The Greek life of some colleges really hate on transfer students, and I want to know if it’s even worth a try?</p>
