Vanderbilt vs. Carnegie Mellon for Pre-med

<p>I believe CMU has stronger science programs than Vandy.</p>

<p>But, since you’re pre-med, GPA, MCAT scores and recommendations will be more important than undergrad university reputation.</p>

<p>Vandy and CMU are very different environments. You’ll do better in an environment that will allow you to focus and have fun. Visit both and then decide.</p>

<p>Biology is very strong at Vanderbilt.</p>

<p>Carnegie Mellon has the lowest yield rate out of USNEWS top 25 colleges. The students tend to be more socially awkward, while Vanderbilt tends to attract lots of gregarious/extroverted types.</p>

<p>I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and have spent a lot of time at CMU with friends.</p>

<p>Speaking purely on the basis of social life and the city environment: Vanderbilt. Hands down.</p>
