Vanderbilt Waitlist 2024

yes the waitlist is need aware, but they still meet full need. but someone with an EFC of 0 will have a harder time getting off than someone paying full price.

I just received an email asking me if I would like to remain on the waitlist. Did everyone receive this email?

@futurehuncho I received it too. I believe they sent it out to everyone on the waitlist.

@kidfrommass to make sure people in the waitlist are still interested after all of the decisions came out

Daughter received it as well. They send it to everyone on the list to make sure they are still interested.

DD got the email too. I think Vandi sent to all waitlisters.

Yes everyone received that email, they also said that we would receive it this week during the waitlist webinar. It is just them making sure that we still want to remain on the waitlist since all college decisions have been released for some time now.

Was there a waitlist webinar? Is it still available online?

I wonder whether sending the email out to everybody is at least an indicator that they will be pulling from it this year. Thoughts?

Yes, they indicated in the waitlist webinar that they are planning to pull from the waitlist.

Yes there was a waitlist webinar, there was instructions to sign up for it somewhere in the application portal. Not sure if they recorded it and posted it anywhere on their website, but there were 3 different live sessions on 3 different days.

Where in the portal was there a sign up for the webinar? And could you provide us with any details of the webinar? Who hosted it?

When were these webinars?

I believe there was a spot on the “Decisions” page of the applicant portal to sign up. The webinars were M-W of this week. Not sure if there were recordings, but an AO and the Vice Provost of Admissions were the speakers.

The webinars were Monday-Wednesday all at different times. They were hosted by the my admissions counselor (Arianna Yarritu) who is the admissions counselor for part of the Northeast (im on Long Island, I believe she has all of NY), as well as the dean of admissions I believe? If not the dean, it was someone very high up in admissions. Anyways, they spoke to us about how great Vanderbilt is, it’s location, how we will be treated like regular students if admitted off the waitlist, financial aid (meeting full need off WL but need-aware), registering for housing and classes which happens in August so we wouldn’t miss out on any of that. And then they let us ask them a bunch of questions in the chat. Basically, they told us we would receive an email this week (which we already did) confirming our continued interest, they told us they expect to dip into the waitlist and that accepted admit offers are rolling in as expected, and that we should begin getting waitlist decisions in the single digits of May. They said when u get an offer you have 3 days to respond to it, and they expect to wrap everything up hopefully by July. Hope that helps with your questions, sorry you missed the webinar.

Thank you for the update. My student did not see any registration for webinars which is odd but did receive the email this week asking for continued interest. Best of luck to everyone. I hope they dive deep into the waitlist in the coming months!

Thanks for the info. Did they say anything about accepting 800 more people RD and how that would impact going to waitlist?

@Inquiringashley They did not, unfortunately.

@Inquiringashley In the post by @DrSenioritis I believe he mentioned that the admit acceptances are rolling in as planned according to Vanderbilt, so I assume that means they are going to pull a semi-regular number of people from the waitlist. It seems to me that Vandy makes a conscious effort to pull from the waitlist, so I assume (and hope) that it will be at least a somewhat regular year.
