Thanks, everyone. Vassar was always her first choice and she was heartbroken (twice) when she didnāt get ED or RD. I think she will end up accepting, but this process has been brutal. I hope she didnāt miss anything big yetā¦ where is the class of 2028 in terms of roommate forms and class registration?

The best part ā¦ nothing has happened yet! You get assigned a roommate (unless you have a dr note for a single). You donāt get to pick your dorm. Class registration happens when you are on campus the week before classes start. You are able to āpre-registerā for a couple classes ahead of time, but Iām not sure how set in stone any of it is until you get there. If there is a class your D absolutely wants to take right away, she should try to pre-register for it. I think pre-registration will start mid-June. The advising once you get to campus is great. They helped my D22 navigate course choices, etc. Because you canāt declare a major until soph year, my D22ās advisor was in an adjacent department (he was math, she is comp sci), and it worked out fine.
D22 just finished soph year. She loves it! Loves her profs and found her people. Is getting ready for study abroad in the Fall. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Oh my gosh, I am so happy for her! (I remember your name b/c I think we are both Vassar alum couples?) I was hoping she might get some good news eventually! What a wild ride - but a relief! Our students got their VC email addresses a few weeks ago and have the ability to get on to the portal to fill out the roommate questionnaire, etc. but nothing is due until the end of June. My son hasnāt even turned in his yet, so your daughter wonāt have missed a beat. Huge congrats! Will be a lot of fun to be back on campus!

Yes, thatās me! We are so happy and relieved. Thanks for the updateā¦ weāre going to make the deposit later today and sheāll hopefully get her VC email address up and running soon. We also have to un-commit to the other school, which seems decidedly less fun. Have to figure that out too. Thanks for all of the words of encouragement. this is a really nice community!

Be sure to join the Vassar Parents fb page. It is such a lovely community! My S24 only looked at state flagshipsā their parent fb pages are sooo different from the group hug that is Vassar parents.

Someone else started a Class of 2028 VC Facebook page (just for strictly new parents - but really makes sense to ask all questions on the main page since those are the parents in the know!) Most of the posts are just āHi, Iām from Maine, anyone else?ā Those kinds of things.

Main FB page has a ton of resources, like floorplans for all the dorm rooms, airport shuttle info, etc.
Iām sure the class only page will be great for building community, too!

I love all the resources on that main page. Iām an alum, and wow, it would have been nice if weād had floorplans when we were moving in back in the 90s!

Does anyone have any waitlist news? I recently got a message from the official coach saying āWelcome to Vassar!ā but I didnāt even get admission yet.

What does one even say? He replied and he said it was a list from admissions. No official replies yet.
