Well, just breaking the ice here since no one has chimed in yet. My son will be applying ED1 to Vassar. Both my husband and I are alums so if anyone has any VC related questions, let me know! Feels like the 11/15 deadline is coming up fast and furious, and still lots of work to do over hereā¦

Hi! Coincidentally, both my husband and I are alums too and our daughter just applied ED1 to Vassar. Not sure how the school is handling legacy these days. any insight?

In terms of official information, Vassarās CDS notes that āalumni/ae relationā is āconsideredā in admission decisions.
I think Vassar still considers legacy for admissions to some degree - like it probably helps as a deciding factor when there are two equally qualified candidates. I definitely donāt think it makes much of a difference for an under qualified student. But I guess really hard to know!
EDI applications are submitted and now we wait. Based on when ED results came out in the past couple of years, my best guess for this year is the evening of December 8.

Last year was DEC 9th - Friday at 4.20pm. My son was very excited and we were traveling to a wedding down in MS at the time. My son is a current Freshman Class of 2027 and enjoying the experience.

Looks like checklist has disappeared on the portal. Guess itās getting closer! Crazy it might be end of next week.
D24 had her alumni interview this past weekend so thereās nothing to do but wait. My best guess is still Friday, December 8 in the afternoon/evening.

Hey, any updates on when theyāll release the admission decisions? Noticed the checklists vanished around Nov. 30. Iām an international student, and was invited for an interview with an admissions officer just 3 days ago. They mentioned just mid-December. Any new info on that?
Things are happening. My daughterās portal updated last night and shows the finance checklist once again. From what Iāve read that means a decision has been made on her (this did not help my anxiety). If precedent rules decisions should (maybe) (probably) be released Friday evening. Letters of notification before the release seem to be hit or miss, some years they do them, some years not.
My sonās financial checklist has been there the entire time. Not sure what that means eitherā¦ but it did go to all green checkmarks yesterday (after having two red, even though IDOC is still behind so those docs still show pending on IDOC. So I have no idea what that means!) Last yearās decision was definitely a Friday, but then again, the 15th last year was Tuesday and this year it was Wednesday, so theyād have one less day to get through everything if it comes out Friday. Fingers crossed!
Honestly that makes me feel better, I went down a rabbit hole last night to see if there was a correlation between those who had the checklist reappear and acceptance (there is none) (also I maybe need to chill a bit). Interestingly IDOC showed our docs as received but on Vassarās checklist they showed as missing - until last night.
In one of the previous yearsā boards there was a man who somehow was able to look at the coding of the site and there is a box titled āAcceptedā hidden within it, along with some other various things. How does that affect what we see on the portal as they make their way through the applicants? No idea. Do I need to go out and touch some grass, probably. This isnāt the Da Vinci Code my brain seems to think it is.

Ha! I love it. I went back to some of the old threads too and saw that same ācodeā thing! I am somehow feeling it will be later in the day Friday and will try to be zen until then (but itās hard!) Fingers crossed for your daughter!
I continue to believe EDI applicants will be notified on Friday Nov. 8 this year. Other SLACs are following the pattern they did last year even though it technically means less time to review because Nov 9 and 10 are on a weekend this year. Skidmore is this Thursday, Williams is this Friday. Iāll be really surprised if Vassar doesnāt notify until next week.

Anyone know if, when posted, there will be a link/button on the main portal page to click to see decision or if the decision will just be THERE. (Hoping itās a link so that if checking the portal periodically my son isnāt going to just happen on the result - because we were hoping to see it together.)

Hi all! Does anyone know if itās coming out tonight (Friday, Dec. 8)? Iāve seen that in past years, they sent an email saying that decisions would come out in the next 48 hours but I havenāt gotten one. Any thoughts on this? Maybe next Friday?
Iām still thinking today. Def stuff changing on the portal - financial aid checklist was there for my son this morning and is now gone.
