Not sure if he will attend… received full tuition from Temple…
Any thoughts or insight ?

If deferred from a particular college (like VSB), does anyone know if admissions considers you for another college (like CLAS) or are you either in or out of Villanova in general depending on the college you applied to.

@maguney
Thanks maguney!

Are we going to get more info in the mail soon? Just got my merit info from Fordham, and I’m really hoping VU stuff comes quickly

@schmoopiez I’m not 100% sure but from what I’ve learned from last years posts on this website admissions does not automatically consider you for another college in the university. I think it is possible to change the school you are applying to after you have been deferred. But, I would contact admissions for a definite answer. My information is limited to what I’ve read here from other students as they have gone through the process.

Accepted VSB !!
SAT- 1400/2100
GPA-97
740 MAth1
700 Bio
700 US

ACCEPTED!!! College of liberal arts and sciences w/ 32 ACT and 3.95 gpa…i, like everyone else, am wondering about merit scholarship notification. Does anyone know?

I have no clue about financial aid/merit stuff but according to their website, you will be notified within a week after receiving your acceptance whether you got into the honors college.

Accepted School of Engineering, 34 ACT, 3.75 GPA. Strong Essays and Recommendations. Averaged 3 AP classes a year. over 500 hours of service, and captained varsity tennis, quiz bowl, model UN, and am a ski racer. I was wondering how much money Villanova tends to give in merit aid to a student with similar stats.

Accepted to CLAS! 4.2 GPA, SAT 2100, 10 APs, Varsity Soccer,Varsity track, Marching band section leader, wind ensemble, poet laureate, quizbowl, TEDx speaker. So excited to be accepted into class of 2020!

Accepted!
2050 SAT
32 ACT
4.4 GPA
3/130 class rank
5 AP Classes
5 on AP English Language and 5 on AP US History
Varsity Soccer, Varsity Swim, Theater/Drama Club, Student Government, Student Ambassadors, Concert Choir, National Honors Society, National Spanish Honors Society, Harvard Book Award, a lot of community service

Congrats to everyone accepted? Has anyone heard about merit scholarships?

So does that mean that merit information/ honors college info will come in the mail this week?

Got my official mail but no word about merit aid :frowning:

Daughter accepted VBS 32 ACT and 3.8 GPA, IL State Scholar. This is her #1 school but will need substantial $ aid for it to work. Applying for Pres. Scholarship but after reading history on awards like LY had 58 finalist and 18 awards, we are nervous. Read somewhere that all finalist offered 50% scholarship. Don’t know if that is accurate. Any thoughts?

Accepted to Arts & Sciences
3.75 UW GPA but took almost all honors and APs so 4.34 W GPA
33 ACT
Top 15% of graduating class
Midwestern US
Catholic high school (wonder if that helped any)

Wait to see if you get any financial aid money or if you get one of the two main merit scholarships, the Presidential Scholarship or Villanova Scholarship. For Pres Scholarship, they usually bring in around 50 people for 25 awards and then around 18 commit. if you get to finalist but don’t get scholarship, then you get a villanova scholarship of around 12,500-20k I believe. Not entirely sure on specific amount but its a decent amount.

Did anyone get into the honors program? Is the mail the only way to find out?

They notify by mail a week after EA notification. My son got his letter today and was accepted.
