Trying to get my DS to drop a school out of his top four… If it’s out, then drop them so someone else doesn’t have to wait…
From Portal: “ You are invited to join the Honors College. More information will be provided to you soon directly from the Honors College.” If any alum is here, could you please share what the honors college is all about? Thx!
Waitlisted - was a reach so not surprised but being in-state and not as popular a major was hoping for the best. It’s OK though, onwards and upwards. I am a Hokie Alum - congrats to all who got in, I loved my time there as a French major (try not to laugh)!
Last year only certain programs offered dorm stays. I think the Corp of Cadets and CEED programs. Might be others I don’t know about.
Waitlisted. 3.8 UW/4.2 W, 1560 SAT, Eagle Scout, Tech Theater Director, competitive public STEM HS in Engineering program, DE, Honors, 9 AP…in state. Ugh.

My son was also accepted into Building Construction. Are you looking at other construction management programs elsewhere?
Congrats to everyone who was accepted! My son is a freshman there now and loves it… any questions about VT, freshman year or whatever, feel free to ask!
Definitely put your deposit down early to get first choice of dorms.
Right? We were bummed that we couldn’t see it again!
congrats! He looked at Michigan State which has Construction Management. Really impressed by MSU campus! Also visited Purdue but he didn’t apply. Applied to Auburn but deferred.
For an accepted student who just submitted the enrollment deposit:
Is there a wait between the time one submits their enrollment deposit and when they’re able to do anything regarding housing? With the warnings about dorm availability / choice my D24 is feeling the pressure but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do anything right now…
Anyone know what the difference is between the Hokie Focus event and an Admitted Student visit?
Daughter admitted

Sometime this summer, the student will get a notification on when they can pick their dorm, their timeslot will be determined by when they put their housing deposit down.
Son admitted in December and got invited to Honors college today. Still waiting for more admission results in March/April.
Thanks. Do you happen to know when it will be possible to put down a housing deposit?
D24 Admitted - Human Development

And of course she accepted her spot at Ohio State 2 days ago (for nursing). Her plan had been ED to Tech, that was all she talked about for 2 years. But Tech doing away with ED gave her time to think and explore.
You should be able to do so as soon as you’re admitted… I think you have to put down your regular deposit down and then you can do your housing deposit. I think the school deposit is non-refundable but the housing deposit is refundable. Double check that.
