Virginia Tech Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

After hearing what our counselor relayed that the JMU admissions officer told her… I’m expecting the worst. (you can find it under my activity)

Are you referring to the median GPAs? It’s crazy.

After what I heard posted on JMU’s page. We are worried even though we did get accepted to JMU with Honors. Still a crap shoot with the way VT’s app is since it has minimal amount of space to tell your story.

Yes! I feel for the kids with below 3.5s.

I assume at this stage the decisions are nearly baked and do not think that they will look at mid-year grades

That’s what UofVA also said and it was released today

Portal still has a message (that you can click x and goes away) that all materials are due Dec 1st. There are checks for both Srar and application so don’t think anything is missing. Worried that something is missing but nothing seems to be missing. Anyone else sees this?

We’ve had this all along and wondered the same. I hope it’s all good - but we also have the checks for the completed app and SRAR.

Got it! I am sure it is nothing…this anxiety of waiting is making us question every little thing :grimacing:!

Really interesting that VT does this delayed EA schedule, i.e., application deadline Nov 15, decision by Feb 15 whereas the majority of colleges do application deadline Nov 1, decision by Jan 31. Any thoughts why VT prefers this delayed schedule?

And actually we are just speculating (and manifesting) that they will release Feb 15th. The site still says “late February” for EA decisions!! I think someone up thread said they want to release financial aid at the same time so that’s the reason for the later date.

VT Admissions just posted a reel on IG to the effect of “VT is Home” and it’s funny to see people respond just like all of us have been doing here. I think it’s coming this week. Why would they post this?? Right?

I hope soon… these nerves can’t take it anymore. It is gonna be either popping the champagne or wiping away tears. Good luck everyone!

This is Home is just one of VT’s slogans (it’s on a lot of our merchandise and promotional media). It doesn’t necessarily mean much about admissions release.

Throughout the clip there’s a caption in the middle that says, “POV: Applying to Virginia Tech was the best decision I ever made” and at the bottom it says “Virginia Tech is HOME.” I’m thinking they’re hinting at a decision release too!:crossed_fingers:

I think they have the Nov 15 date because a lot of people get the applications in by the popular Nov 1 deadline. BUT. Tech requires the SRAR and I think they are trying to give students those extra two weeks to complete it.

In years past, the deadline was Nov 1, and I know some students who got their app in, but because they didn’t do their SRAR by that date, they were switched to regular decision.

Might be, though we also applied for Clemson with a deadline of Oct 15, and they had SRAR as well. AND we got the decision by Dec 15. I love how quick the turn-around is at Clemson. This is what early action should look like

Same here with Clemson. UT-Knox also requires the SRAR and notified early December

So, 11/15 deadline for late February early decision date, and 1/1 deadline for early March regular decision.

Seems odd.

Agreed! My son (OOS) made 10 EA applications and VT is the last one he is waiting for. It is indeed a too long wait for EA
