I really don’t understand why the school isn’t giving more info or communicating. Other schools communicated the date of release far in advance. I am not sure what the point is in making everyone wait and guess! This is a top choice for many kids and knowing more info would help mentally prepare as well.
Couldn’t agree more…give a date! I do not understand the big secret.
Don’t know. Maybe they need to make sure with their IT department that their servers do not crash on decision release date, who knows…
Other schools do the same. FSU, for out if state, as an example.
They give you a date.
It’s the people grinding for more. The school has delivered or it will as promised. If they give you a date, why would you not believe the date given ??
Consumers have a choice. One doesn’t have to choose Va Tech. Va Tech risks students going elsewhere by delaying but they are obviously ok with that risk.
Where have you seen a specific date? All I have seen is mid-late February. I think it the range that makes people uneasy and constantly guessing. A specific date would be wonderful!!!
No one saw a specific date. Just speculation based on past patterns and we clung to it. ![]()
On their website - unless i’m missing something - late Feb so I’d assume the by the 28th and that it comes sooner - gravy. I think you all are hoping for something that doesn’t exist.

Did anyone else’s child receive a Valentine’s email from the college they are applying to (ex. College of Science)? I assume it is just a blanket email, but looking for any little sign at this point.
Nope. Not here from College of Engineering.
Yes, college of science. But I think its generic.
Not from college of liberal arts
So Spring Open House weekend is March 1st. I know it’s not Hokie Focus, which is specifically for admitted students, but wouldn’t they release decisions more than a day ahead of this? Im really over thinking this.
No email (engineering)
None from Business
Received from college of science.
None from OOS business
That’s a valid point
Same. Received the email for science and thought the same.
So basically… science is the only one with heart?
Received an email about VT FAFSA workshops an hour ago. I’m guessing that’s just standard?!
