Did you get an email yesterday?
I like the idea but would hate for my child to have a broken heart on that day.
Yeah. I hope itâs NOT this Friday.
Are there any other schools that havenât released EA? I know there are ED2 decisions coming out.
I believe FSU OOS
FSU is Thursday this week though itâs not at the top of our list.
Hoping for a decision this Friday either way⊠It would really sting if it doesnât work out but that would be the case no matter what day it is. This is the last decision my son is waiting for⊠Iâm thinking there may be others in the same boat. Hope we all feel the love from VT this coming Friday!
Same for us, this is the last EA decision my son is waiting for. Fingers crossed they release the decisions this Friday (Feb 14)
Havenât they released on Thursdays in the past?
Yes I was wondering that as well, have they always released on a Friday or has it been on other days as well? Wasnât last year in waves? Am I wrong about the year?
I think most schools like to hit the button and then quickly turn off the lights and lock the doors heading into a weekend, that way emotions settle over the weekend. Otherwise the rest of that day and the next, the phones will be ringing off the hook.
Not saying all do that, but a majority of the releases for my son last year were on late FridaysâŠ
Last year they let some kids know in December and everyone was notified by Feb 2. I donât know if there were waves in between but that certainly could have been the case. They did not get a great response for the early releases in Dec (except presumably from the kids who were admitted then) so they had said they would not repeat that this year.
Among all my sons applications, looks like the release data for VT is the least predictable
My son was accepted in Dec, but he didnât accept until mid/late April.
I think itâs been on Fridays. Maybe theyâd do Thursday this year since Valentineâs Day is Friday? Wishful thinking.
For anyone that was curious about the FAFSA email. You can go to this link and click prospective student and check if they received FAFSA. https://finaid.vt.edu/
Yes this is what I heard. We know someone that is a current student at Virginia Tech, couldnât remember if he was a sophomore or a freshman, but he was in that December heat that was notified.
That said, I have an older child that is a Junior in college and this senior who has heard back from a handful of schools and I feel like release days were all over the map for both. I actually feel like a bunch were on Wednesdays and Thursdays oddly enough. One was on a Sunday which I would think is the absolute worst for the collegeâŠwho wants to be bombarded with calls first thing on a MondayâŠlol.
Great site - thanks!
Great link! Curious, Is your household worksheet for dependents say waived (in green text)?
So I looked back through 2020 - all February releases were on Fridays - but none were on Valentineâs Day, so I guess there could be an argument for the 13th or the 14th. They also have released once in those years as late as the 21st so it could (gulp) even be next week.
