Yes, I saw that too. She did say that this is rumored to be true. So, as you stated, it is not official, but fingers crossed.
I didnât say he was lying, I just said I couldnât find the account. Must be a private page.
I think JKing meant to reference the comment made by dmvww.
The handle is thecollegenavigators.
I think I clicked your reply instead of the person that said he was lying above you. I didnt mean anything by it. Just posting because I saw it was a real thing. Not a private pageâŠthere is an S on the end of Navigator, I didnât see it at first either. Hoping its true no matter the outcome, its killing my kid waiting! lol
Yes I just noticed I hit wrong reply button. I wasnât saying it to call anyone out anywaysâŠwas just trying to point out it really did exist since that is good info for all of us!
We will know by tomorrow if @JuanMoreHokie posts on X. He always posts the day before decisions come out.
I would argue the majority of engineering applicants are taking advantage of EA, considering the number of spots available in RD are limited if not full. Few of the Top 20 engineering programs are ED, save for a few of the Ivies.
I would also not say swag is what sways a student. Being able to engage those schools, already attend accepted student days, see what LLCs and honors/scholars programs they get into⊠that gets applicants and families thinking and planning.
Donât get me wrong, we loved VT. That said, it is a competitive field for both the applicants and the schools. That might contribute to the low yield they find with OOS students.
I think the reason everyone said it is coming by Friday is because admissions recommended someone to schedule their visit for next week when they called them. Since they were waiting to find out if admitted to travel since they were driving from far.
As I shared previously, we called into VT admissions and were told mid-February. Theyâre under no obligation to commit to a certain date, but at least thatâs from a first-person source.
This is more exciting than when I got my VT acceptance letter back in '92. It was in thick 4"x9" envelope.
Maybe but a lot of schools, even Ivyâs donât have EA, can only ED to 1 school⊠I get what you are saying about engineering, my daughter did all the EAs she could because she is architecture, same scenario with limited slots. But not everyone, not the majority for sure, are those majors. I guess my only point is VT doesnât seem to feel like they wonât make yield by making their release date later. Good luck to your son!
Architecture at Tech is great she will enjoy it. Itâs what I graduated from. Its small class sizes really make it really nice. The program set me up to be successful eventhough I never practiced architecture went the tech field but, they gave me a unique opportunity to do some great uyndergraduate work in VR at the time.
and our decline was a regular envelope, I remember stalking our mail delivery
Fingers crossedâŠit is one of her favorite programs. Thanks for the info I feel like this year admissions everywhere are all over the place. I donât remember it being nearly so unpredictable when my older kid was applying to schools 3 years ago!
My son applied to VT architecture too. Got into PSU architecture program so he has one option already. Other schools he applied to are all liberal arts. He and I were both very impressed with the VT architecture program. First time Iâve seen him really say, wow this is cool.
Yes the VT program she loved as well as the freshman professor. She also already got into a handful⊠PSU, Pratt, Tennessee, & NJITâŠplus a couple of 4 year safety programs. She is still waiting on about 6 schools I believe that had no EA. Will not know those until March Good luck to your son!
Thank you, good luck to your daughter! I think timing is especially pivotal for certain majors, engineering included.
Iâll also note HYP does not do ED, but the other Ivies do. Itâs either that, or Cryvie Day for the rest.
Yup that would be us. Cornell only has ED and RDâŠso March 27th it isâŠlol
