VT does accept many students off the waitlist many years. But , on occasion they have accepted 0 off the waitlist. It is unpredictable from year to year.

Congrats! What are his stats? My son will be applying next year and would like to double major in English (Creative Writing) and History and isn’t sure which major to put down on his application.
Waitlisted 
- guess this is off our list. Probably headed to Delaware who gave her a large merit scholarship.

In letter says 57k applications for 7k spots first year… thats 12% accept rate. Did i misunderstand something here?
Yes, they admit far more than the number of spots they have.

Yes, and with the regular applications / decisions, the acceptance rate was like 57% last year. Should be more or less around the same number this year
