Virginia Tech Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Any idea which of the two LLC housing is better-- Innovate vs Impact. I have looked online and son is accepted to Pamplin school. He has been offered spots in both LLCs. Innovate LLC is new dorm building. but requires 2 courses to take while Impact is close to dinning and needs only one required course. Both dorms seem to have Acs.

Sorry - my son is engineering and has joined Galileo. No AC there unfortunately.

The new dorm (CID) is located at one end of campus (and the drill field), a bit off from the more central part of the residential side of campus. Not a big deal because everything is walkable. Is Impact in Cochrane? It’s on the opposite end of the drill field. Both are a similar walking distance from Pamplin (but it’s unlikely that all his coursework will be in Pamplin, so distance to there doesn’t really matter). I don’t think he could go wrong with either location. Maybe zero in on which LLC most closely aligns with his major and future career plans.

Thanks.. S25 decided on Impact (in cochrane) as it required only one course requirement and not a 2 yr commitment like Innovate..Impact also more aligned with his interests in Business analytics as a minor along with his major Finance. Seems the dorms are all within walking distance of academic buildings.. esp with Virginia’s mild winter weather

FYI - the winters are not mild there. The wind whipping across the drill field goes all the way down to the bone and they have ice and snow. It’s milder than say a Michigan winter though :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

My senior daughter is a finance major - she’s had a great experience  Best wishes to your son!

Agree about the weather. Campus was beautiful but so cold and WINDY when we were there in early March. And we are from MA, so we are used to the cold. Walking across that drill field felt like we were in a wind tunnel.

Good to know.. We are from MA.. thought it would be mild and short winter.. Need to prepare accordingly! Nice to know your daughter liked the finance program.. My kid chose VT over Rutgers Business school which was closer to us.. he seems really excited about VT.

We forgot to print or download the letter. We can no longer access the application portal. Any way to get a copy of the admission letter?

For anyone on the waitlist, I just got accepted tonight - was not expecting that!

Waitlist offers are in batches, right? Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten an offer for Business (Undecided) or a business major?

My daughter that just got notified yesterday is Marketing.

In state or OOS?

So far, I’ve only seen OOS students offered from waitlist. Anyone from in-state get an offer?

It’s amazing to let kids know so early…but also strange since decisions were released a month ago. They already had that many declining the offer?

Maybe they have less enrollments than at the same time in past years. They yielded 25% last year.

Last year 11067 went on the wait list and 1524 got in. They had another year 0 got in. So they are very random.

Good luck.

Congratulations to those coming off the wait list!!

Based on VT’s historic use of WL it appears to be part of a strategy.

Great to have so many examples of a wait list not being a rejection at certain schools who use it in this way as a strategic tool.

Gives hope to all those students on WL to recognize that in fact the schools have not given you a final decision or rejection but in fact deferred a final decision to a later date.

Prepare for the worst and certainly don’t count on it but if you are interested in a WL school don’t give up hope and make sure you follow through with a LOCI.

We are OOS

Did she apply Early Action?

Waitlist —> accepted OOS here too.
My guess is lower international enrollment than previous years, for obvious reasons.
