Virginia Tech Fall 2015 Transfer

I just wanted to wish all of y’all good luck as the decisions approach! I know the waiting game isn’t fun, but hopefully the results ends up being worth it!!

Well, I know someone who just got accepted yesterday…currently a freshman at a 4-yr school in Va. So it looks like they are doing rolling admissions.

I just got in to Tech with a 3.1 GPA and I currently attend a four year university

@vhokie Congrats! Have to admit I haven’t seen too many transfers get in with that GPA. The ones accepted that are posting to this thread seem to be CC students (who get higher priority than 4-yr college transfers), or else 4-yr transfers with a 4.0. Which school (i.e. engineering, business) did you apply for? The person who I mentioned that got accepted a couple days ago had a 3.7 fall semester, and got accepted to Pamplin.

@ccawealthofinfo Yea I know I was really surprised I got in! I applied for biology

I have a friend that got in with a Fall GPA of 3.0 for business. I have not heard of anybody getting into architecture or engineering without a 4.0 yet though. Btw if anybody needs a room for a summer session I have one in The Edge.

Anyone know when we can expect to see the next round of acceptances? I applied to engineering.

@hedgehog12 April 28th.i called them and the lady informed me

What’s everyone doing about housing? I applied to be on the waitlist but I don’t know if I’m going to get it or not…do you think I should wait or just get an apartment? I’m starting in the Fall btw

When did you get waitlisted

@frogsinribbons5 Housing should be released mid-May. However, transfer students are rarely offered housing if they do not attend the summer academy. If you’re looking for apartments there are several listings on our group’s Facebook page.

I contacted someone about my position on this list. They said that they did not plan on offering any transfer students on campus housing. She said they already accepted more freshman than they can fit on campus.

Engineering people–do you think we might hear tomorrow?

Possibly, since I am engineering as well and was just asked to send in mid semester grades on Tuesday with the deadline of Wednesday so I am assuming they are trying to get the decisions up ASAP

Should I be worried if my midterm grades haven’t been asked for?

No, they ask for midterm grades when you are on the fence. For example I applied with 65 credits 3.83 gpa, but a
D in Physics so they asked for my midterm grades. If your gpa is greater than 3.5 and you have no D’s you are in.

So engineering people, are we supposed to hear monday or tuesday night?

Did anyone contact the office?

Have all of the results so far been acceptances? Hopefully the rest of us will hear back soon, I’ve been getting super paranoid…which of course just makes everything worse.

@FredyAcosta @ilovecats12 they look at other factors as well. One of my friends from my community college was denied with a 4.0 GPA because of a lack of extra curricular activities.
