Hey, even though this topic might sound awkward, I was wondering if any of you guys have heard of this type of software virus called Trojan Download Agent.

I keep getting warnings about this virus and my anti-virus software is currently AVG. It doesn’t detect this virus but somehow I get notifications about it in popups.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of this virus???

delete all of your porn we know you have and report back

Pop up warnings =/= legitimate virus. In fact, many trojans will infiltrate your system by claiming that you have some sort of virus on your computer and that their virus cleaner (which you can get by clicking the pop up) will remove it for you. Their “virus scanner” is actually a trojan.

However, AVG is a legitimate program (I use it). It’s not an AVG pop up, is it?

If it’s a browser pop up, just get a pop up blocker (or use Firefox) and ignore it.

If your AVG is up to date and doesn’t detect anything, it should be fine. Aero is correct: oftentimes websites will run give a popup saying “your computer is infected!” and then close your web browser, and forcibly begin a “virus scan” yielding hundreds of results. Then they try to get you to download the program to clean your computer, which is actually a virus.
