Visiting/non-degree student

I noticed that top US unis (eg Harvard, Yale, Columbia…) have visiting/non-degree undergraduate student programmes. are these programmes viewed as easy/unselective? How respected are these programmes? Are they simply considered as a doss for students with extra money?

I think these programs will accept anyone who applies. You will basically taking summer courses at these unis. The course’s difficulty should be similar to normal course’s except that you will be competing with mostly other students and few matriculated students.

A lot of less-selective universities have those programs as well.
But I guess you are right that they are mostly about making money of students who won’t appear in statistics and are able to pay full tuition.
