Vocalization in Audition?

I have heard a rumor that only those who get vocalized during the audition are considered for admission. Is this true? Does anyone know of a student who wasn’t vocalized but made it into the program?

Thank you!!:)

My daughter was not vocalized, but was asked to sing her up-tempo song first and then asked to sing her ballad. She is now a freshman in the program. Best of luck to you it is a fantastic program…In fact Kristin Chenoweth is on campus today for a lab with her class!

I was vocalized last year at my January audition date on campus and did not make it in and know a few other people that had the same experience.

Thank you so much! I just had my audition and was asked to sing both my songs, but was not vocalized. I know the program is extremely difficult to get into, but I’m keeping my hopes up! I know some people who are convinced this rumor is true and just wanted to see of any other opinions.

My friend was vocalized last year, and he got accepted. I’ve heard it’s a good thing.

I wondered the same thing. I sang both songs and they vocalized me.
