Volunteering with Madison House

Hi! I’m currently a 2nd year student at UVA, and I’m looking to volunteer with a few programs through Madison House, namely Legal Aid, Pet Pals, and HELP Line. I already filled out all the applications and everything, and now I’m just waiting to hear back about training dates and stuff. I want to get into these programs really badly, so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how competitive the selection process is. Do they normally take most of the applicants, or do they comb through all the applications in a super selective process? I’m mostly interested in Legal Aid. Thanks!

It’s usually based on the number of open spots – like, they try to get a lot of open spots so everyone who applies can be placed. Then if they come to training, what days they marked as available, etc.
