D just got a call from BU and has been accepted from waitlist. It was her first choice, but when she didn’t get in last month, she worked hard to get excited about her second choice and to put BU out of her mind. Now she is totally confused.
Does anyone have first-person experience with the Theatre Department? Could you tell us if the school lives up to its reputation. Any information would help her.
Thanks.

My daughter wondered about it several years ago, and at one point was in tears trying to choose between two great choices, NYU and BU. The visit to the school after acceptance, and the shadowing for a day of classes, convinced her that BU was the place for her. She is really happy there, it has been the right place for her…The size of the school allows for real intimacy, they know the students inside and out! Classes are over, but if you need to try to get up there next week, it is a performance week… as far as I know. It is an important decision and your daughter might gain insight from a visit back to her two choices…

My son is another Boston University School of Theatre student who absolutely loves it.

A current BU freshman whose CC screen name is hellohellomo has posted on the forum recently, offering to answer questions about BU. You might think about sending her a private message.

Good luck to your daughter with her decision!
