Waitlist success stories

I think I heard/read that Trinity and Colby both closed their waitlists. (first one by mail and the second by email, I think)
check the previous pages

sohogurl - it was Elon University
she was invited to reapply as a transfer next year.

Any waiting lists for transfer students. A friend of mine is trying to transfer to UVA or W and M and says she is on a waiting list still hoping to get in. Any transfers out there still waiting to hear.

so i moved on july 1st and all my mail has to be forwarded to my new address and it gets here about a week late

and i got a letter from penn saying they’re keeping an extended waitlist and want to offer me a spot but the deadline was the eighth and today is the tenth!! so i’m freaking out and emailing my admissions counselor and the email address i was supposed to respond to. i am so nervous.

trackie: was that upenn or penn state?

Amherst sent the good bye mail…

Kiss-off letter from Wellesley came earlier this week. Oh, well. At least my plans are finalized now!

rom, it’s upenn

i got an email back from the person saying that it was fine i’d responded late and she’d add my name to the group…

Trackie - That’s so exciting. i’ve been hoping you’d get to go where you want to go. Will you?

D got official reject from Northwestern also stated that they would keep her file til next year in case she wants to tranfer.

whereto- Thanks for the encouragement! I really hope I’ll get that special call from Penn, but if I don’t… I love Tulane. I’m in love with the school, I have a roommate, I have my class schedule, I have my dorm, I have my meal plan…

But there would be nothing better than to have my phone ring and it be David Toomer from the University of Pennsylvania Office of Undergraduate Admissions asking if I’d still accept a place in the incoming freshman class.

Trackie, Good luck to you and all the other kids who are waiting anxiously to
hear from the schools of their choice – it is a painful ordeal, and your optimism and positive attitude are wonderful. I hope Penn doesnt miss out on you.

Colgate sent out letters that my file will be open until the 28th of july. do you think that means they are making final decisions by then and sending letters (i already know notification will come via snail mail letter)? i’m nervous/happy. i really want to get in but i’m happy to know this process is going to be over. oh well, … nine days.

i cannot believe this thread is still active

Hmmmm…After calling GWU for more than 10 times i finally got the Director of admissions to tell me that MSF program has no more seats available for admissions.
In fact she sounded genuinely disappointed that she had to give me that news since i called her up so many times. She also came forward and told me what the reason was for me not getting in and told me if could improve my Quant scores and get more experience and apply for next year i will get in and she is gonna keep the file open for me…i guess something positive came out of bugging the hell out of them…

I am both sorry and glad to hear that. Sorry - for your not getting in. Glad - because you finally know what you’re at.
It’s really nice of your doa to tell you the reason!
Btw, if they don’t tell us the reason, do you think it would be rude to ask yourself?

Boho_girl:
No i don’t think it would be rude. What’s the worst they are going to say. Sorry we don’t share that information, that’s all. Let me know what happened. Good luck!!!

Grave digging lol. Waitlisted at Villanova and I really want to go there. Any recommendations for a possible sucess story too?

my first two letters (Rice, Northwestern) were both waitlists. I only cried after Northwestern, which was the second one I received because those were the two schools i thought i had the best chances at.

any success stories from Tulane or Gettysburg?
