Waitlist

When do they start sending acceptances out? Respond if you have heard yet

EFlo,

I’m in the same boat. I’d say they start around May 15.

same here. waiting

what r ur stats?

still waiting…*sigh, but on the bright side…we’re all going to college! :)

not good. just barely got into UMICH, but couldn’t afford it.

im still waiting…did all we have to do for the waitlist is say that we accepted it? i didn’t send in any other stuff except for accepting my spot on the online decision thing

You should be hearing something soon… Students who have chosen not to attend UVA probably did not get their responses in on time… Good luck!

tushar707, what did it take to get into UMich? I heard that was just about as tough as UVa

Michigan’s acceptance this year was not as tough as UVA. I know kids who got in with 3.7-3.9 and 1300.

In-state v. out of state is a HUGE factor at both of these schools…overall from out of state UMich is probably easier to get into than UVA

I agree. As a transfer, I got in UMich but was waitlisted at UVA (3.85 HS gpa…weighted, 3.93 college gpa, 2010 SAT - 1310 M/V combined). OOS for both.

plus I applied really early to UMICH and they had rolling admissions However next year they will not have rolling admissions so it should be just as hard as UVA

UVA is waiting too long. I just want to know if I’m in or not, :/

It’s already May 14th, and I graduate the 20th, and I do not have a straight answer about college when people ask me. And I’m known to be one of the smart kids in all my classes, so this is hard.

I’d try phoning admissions. (You do have a second choice, right?) If you don’t get a straight answer from the admissions office, I’d suggest you’d put something in writing and send it priority mail, assuring the school that you will definitely attend if taken off the waitlist. Good luck to you!

I have sent in my stuff for my second choice, but would be act faster than lighting in turning down my anonymous second choice.

Decisions should be coming out this week, so I don’t think it would make a difference if I sent the letter, this late in the game.

Good luck, Bruins, but IMO, it’s never too late to send in a letter. You just never know. There might be student(s) taken off the waitlist who have decided to attend the second choice school for whatever reasons. If you still haven’t heard anything, I’d give it one last shot if you really want to go to UVA. Again, best of luck.

tushar, when did UMich eliminate rolling admissions? This was one of my s schools with UVa being his first choice. The plan was to apply rolling and ea at a couple of schools so he would not feel worried since his chance to apply ED at UVa was eliminated. Gosh, the admissions game is complicated. Every time I think we have a plan something else crops up.

On another note Good Luck Bruins!!

This year was the last year for rolling admissions. so who every applies from now on, there is no rolling admission

Thanks Everyone!

Good luck to all the other applicants waiting to get off the waitlist.
