I applied to princeton for the class of 2016 and princeton waitlisted me (we all know how that went, lol).

Therefore i am considering to apply for class of 2017, single choice early action. This year i couldn’t apply early because i didn’t have my SATs done on time, i’m an international student.

As anyone been through this? Does anyone have any feedback on what my chances are, given the acceptance rate of early action and the fact that i was waitlisted? I’d be happy to provide my stats if requested, but i’ve posted them on other threads.

You shouldn’t wait a year to reapply solely because you want to go to Princeton. SCEA doesn’t confer a significant advantage unless you are an athlete or a legacy.

If you want to take a year off anyway, then sure reapply. But don’t put your life on hold for something that isn’t a sure thing. Don’t you have any other options?

I got accepted at Cornell, but they gave no FA so i couldn’t enroll. It wouldn’t be putting my life on a hold, there’s much i can do with a gap year. And besides, i would be reapplying to other universities as well.

I spoke to a student who actually did reapply after being rejected and was accepted. He said that he enhanced his application. So, try to improve your application. I wish you the best!

That is completely false. Princeton and Cornell have very different financial aid policies for international students. Princeton is committed to FULLY meeting the financial need of EVERY student who attends, whether they are international or not.
