being waitlisted at GAtech I am confused whether to accept other offers as I will come to know abt GAtech only later part of May…Can I accept more than one offer?

no you can’t accept more than 1 offer… though you can accept one offer and leave it when a gtech acceptance comes out in may…

where are accepted?

I am accepted in UIUC, UT and purdue

@compscifan: is it not legal to accept more than one offer…uff I am not able to decide!

When did I say that you’d have accept more than 1 offer.
Accept UIUC … Wait till may end … get accepted at gtech … tell uiuc that you’d like to withdraw your admission … enroll at gtech !!

I ‘think’ that this is how it work. Maybe. Waitlists are made every year and people do get accepted off waitlists. So ask elsewhere on this forum how this thing works …
I might do the same if the CMU waitlist turns into an offer …

Actually i dont have much hope for Gtech…but when I accept UIUC what will be the next steps…maybe I would have to start selecting dorms and all such official things…I really dont know what happens after accepting the offer…so will I be able to withdraw later

@compscifan: wow waitlisted at CMU…All the best…when will u come to know abt CMU confirmed?

flyfan … Now that I think of it … I really don’t know what are the steps :D… I’ll ask people and let you know how this works …

CMU confirmation ? May end, I believe…

Accept the best choice that you like out of the 3 and then wait for GT.
Is anyone giving any money?

No all of them I am paying myself…as I am international…btw any idea which I should select UIUC /purdue/UT…for mech eng

UIUC
10 char

what does 10 char mean? I know I sound stupid

[Mechanical | Rankings | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/engineering-doctorate-mechanical)

They seem pretty close in rankings for ME which is a bit surprising. Austin has a great climate though.

Can I accept a spot on the waitlist for more than one school? Could someone please explain how this whole thing works?

You can tell people that you still want to be considered for a waitlisted position in any number of schools. However, you should only tell one school that you are coming. So if you tell one of the three you are coming, you can go back to them and withdraw to accept a position from a school that changed your waitlist to confirmed.
Even for admission, you should probably take your time to tell them you are coming until close to deadline when the offer expires.

10 char = when yer post is less than 10 chars and ye can’t post because of that, ppl put 10 char at the end to fill up the character count
