I am an international student who has applied to couple of colleges and universities. I scored 1400 in the SAT and scored 720,750,780 on chemistry, Maths level one and Biology M respectively. The decision came in from whitman and indicated that they had me waitlisted. What are my chances of being choosen to enroll. And am I likely to be waitlisted by similar liberal arts colleges like Colgate, skidmore, and Denison.
hard to say, different colleges try to assemble their first year class depending on the applicant pool. you would never know which one will accept you in the end.
Did you apply for financial aid? If so, that may have been the reason for the wait list.
Yes I have applied for financial aid to all of my colleges. So even if there is space does it mean they are not going to put me in because of the financial aid I am asking?
@YBT6464 No, it does not mean that they will not put you in. It simply means that they will consider their “space”, and instead of just asking, “Will this person fit?”, they’ll also ask, “Is this person worth the fit?” So your application has to get a yes on both counts.
Btw I’m an international who got waitlisted too. I believe Whitman waitlisted a LOT of internationals who applied for financial aid.
