I agree…nothing really happened. I think I’ve been a bit disappointed the entire season. Hope it’s better come February.
My most horrifying Walking Dead episode is the one from last season at Terminus when the men were handcuffed and leaning over the blood-letting trough, and the subsequent cannibal house-of-horrors tour.
I missed it tonight - completely forgot. I was watching Downton Abbey!
^^That’s why I love my TIVO. I recorded both and watched TWD first and I’m still trying to catch my breath. It was a very intense episode.
Really intense show…great for a season opener!
I watched the first five seasons of TWD on Netflix. Last weekend, I recorded the first half of Season 6 during the AMC marathon and Sunday’s new episode. I have to say that watching on Netflix is so much better. I hate how the commercials take you out of the suspense of the story.
I enjoyed Sunday’s episode. Loved when Daryl, Abraham and Sasha showed up. Rick’s escape plan, although without any other better option, was never going to work with Sam behaving the way he was. Can this gang ever have a nice, quiet, enjoyable day?
Did I miss Talking Dead? I love their “In Memoriam”. way too many walkers to say something about in last night’s episode.
SPOILER ALERT
I must say – I liked this episode much much better than last week’s episode. Way too many internal inconsistencies and breakdowns in logic last week (and some of those this week, too), but really…Michonne and Rick, that’s waaayy overdue! I just hope this isn’t the death knell for Michonne. Rick’s love interests don’t do too well, historically, but come to think of it, neither do Michonne’s.
SPOILER ALERT!! #2
I’m interested again, after having become rather bored with the show. The walk through the walkers with that crew made zero sense to me. Rich and Michonne doing it by themselves to create a distraction made better sense, and should have worked. But why oh why aren’t they always setting big fires so walkers can burn themselves up???
Has Michonne had a lover since the zombie apocalypse began?
Who is this clean new guy? Is he with the group that ambushed Daryl, Abraham, Sasha?
During the hiatus, I started watching Z Nation. If you happen to have watched all the zombie films ever made, which it seems to me maybe I have, it is a pretty amusing parody. I only got into this genre because of my kids’ interest back when they were preteens. Now they aren’t even interested. I am glad you guys are here.
Spoilers
I don’t like the Rick and Michonne hookup. I liked their deep friendship. It does add some interest to the story, but I also thought, “goodbye Michonne”. She’s become softer, and with that change, more vulnerable. I see her dying saving Carl at some point.
Leave a perfectly good car with gas in the tank to come back for later-? Some reason Rick couldn’t drive the truck and Daryl follow in the car? The plotting sometimes is really dumb. The characters should be smarter by now. It killed me to see that truck full of supplies go into the water so that Daryl could fight.
Exactly what I was thinking. Two working vehicles, two people, you take them both. In the zombie apocalypse, you’re going to leave one of these valuable assets and waste the gas to come all they way back to retrieve it? Not smart at all. It also would have been a lot smarter to throw Jesus dude tied up into the back of the van. Let him rattle around in there until you get the supplies home. I can’t stand stupidity driven by plot demands.
In fact, Rick and Daryl (especially, having encountered Negan’s men) should be so on alert when they’re out that realistically, they wouldn’t go chasing after the source of the “gunfire” but run the opposite way, into the truck and drive away.
I hope in next week’s show, they show more cunning and caution in regard to the bigger world that Jesus is going to introduce.
Yes, these two seemingly strong leaders, of the group doing something so foolish, not once but twice? It made little sense. They said on the after show that the two of them had watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid before filming the episode, but that it was closer to Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
I can’t figure out how walker-Deana was wandering around in the woods, fully intact, 2 months after she faced the walker-mob coming down the hall, using her last bullets in a futile act of defiance. Wouldn’t they have consumed her like they did Sam and Jessie? Even if her walker self got out of the house somehow, why wouldn’t she have ended up in the fire-lake like all the other walkers who weren’t dispatched by Rick’s group and the Alexandrians?
I thought the whole plot with Carl leading her to her son, Spencer, so that he could be the one to put her down and give her a decent burial was touching but I need some sort of explanation about why she was out in the woods in the first place. I enjoy the show but the writing inconsistencies are really bugging me.
Exactly. Based upon their prior experience with the Governor they should already be working on figuring out how to deal with whoever this Negan guy is. Their behavior makes no sense.
THANK YOU! I had the same problem with the whole walker Deanna plot – she looked way too good (for a zombie, of course) to have been part of that zombie melee in Alexandria. It just didn’t make sense.
I was willing to suspend disbelief when I bought into the whole zombie apocalypse, but there has to be some kind of internal consistency and logic. I blame poor writing and/or show-running.
Agreed…as much as I enjoyed the episode, I had the same thoughts as everyone else about all those inconsistencies. Another one…they didn’t figure out how Jesus was able to free himself so quickly on the road, mbut all they do is tie him up again in that room?
I’m just not sure I care about Rick anymore.
I haven’t liked Rick for a while.
^^Me either. And where was Karl this week?
Why don’t you all like Rick? I just see him as being realistic and trying to keep his world alive for his kids. That group was evil. I do see where they are heading, though. With so many of his group, partucularly Glenn, disturbed at the killings, I see trouble for Rick in the future.
