Walking Dead 2014

Anyone out there looking forward to tomorrow’s mid-season finale (besides me)?

I have to admit, much of this season has dragged (although I did like last week’s episode). And am I the only one who has a really bad feeling about Terminus?

I have finally started watching this show, after the marathon over the holidays, and have really enjoyed Season 4. So many things have happened in this one season, split in two, that makes it feel like it was more than one season. My husband and son read the comics, and they have been really happy with this year’s season. I’m not a fan of zombies, but I’ve been able to see the show for its character development and suspense rather than a gore fest. Can hardly wait for October for Season 5!

We live in a town near “Woodbury”. It’s kind of neat to see where they have filmed part of the show. So yes I watch The Walking Dead.

Montegut, I’m the same way - love the characters, not a fan of the zombies. I have a mom-crush on Daryl, I really like Michonne and her sword, and I like Abraham, too (I was a big fan of John Cudlitz when he was John Cooper on Southland).

I thought Sunday was pretty intense, although I would have liked more answers about Terminus. I don’t want to have to wait until October!!

Another fan. It was quite the cliffhanger, but I wish I had a few more facts to kick around.

Amen, Lizardly! Like, where is Beth? Who else is being held captive at Terminus? What’s with the spooky room with the candles? Come on, just tell me that the Terminus people are cannibals; it’s already all over the internet and the graphic novels…

I love the show, and the zombies are critical to that love! I’m dazzled every week by the work of the the makeup and special effects people. Zombie love has kept me watching through some of the weakest parts of the show, like the endless Woodbury plot.

The cannibal idea was so strongly suggested that I expected to see a copy of “To Serve Man” sitting by the grill. (For the younger folks, that’s a reference to a famous Twilight Zone episode where aliens arrive on earth, the humans see they have a book called “To Serve Man” and assume that means they have come to elevate the human race, only to discover at the end that it’s a cookbook.)

I’m reviving this thread to talk about Season 5 (which I believe has been fabulous so far).

So, anyone have any ideas about what happened to Beth? Anyone want to mourn the passing of Bob? And who 's in the woods with Daryl?

All I can say is: I really really hope nothing has happened to Carol.

Just watched it tonight and loving it! I actually felt fairly neutral to Bob and his was the only death that didn’t shock or sadden me that much. So glad Rick beheaded that creep. I tell you Andrew Lincoln sure looks different from when he did in Love, Actually. I always thought he was a cutie.

The thing I liked about Bob was his sense of humor and how he made Sasha smile. I always thought he was a goner, though - he seemed kind of extraneous, like his character was marked for eventual extinction.

In the past I was kind of neutral to Rick (that whole ghost-Laurie stuff in the prison was so annoying) but I’m liking him this year. Yes, the Andrew Lincoln of “Walking Dead” seems way different than the Andrew Lincoln of “Love Actually”!

Rick is the man!! Loved him from the beginning and through all the twists and turns, even when he lost it there for a minute, lol! I didn’t like Bob at first, especially when he was trying to get his drink on at the wrong time, but he kind of grew on me and was sad to see him go, at least for Sasha’s sake. Can’t believe Glenn and Maggie left the group, especially as long as it took them to find everyone again, and she never even mentioned Beth, her sister. Seems like she just kind of wrote her off and moving on.

^^ I don’t get why Maggie would leave before they found Beth - I don’t think she’s even mentioned Beth since the new season began. I’m not sad to see Glenn and Maggie go, but I’m guessing that everyone will meet up again.

I’m more of a Team Daryl than Team Rick, but I have warmed to Rick since Laurie died!

Maybe Maggie thinks Beth is dead, regardless of what Daryl says.

H and I wondered why no one mentioned where Beth was! It was like they all just assumed she was dead…we both just thought that was so strange…

I think they just wanted us to sort of forget about her, so they could surprise and resurrect a story.

The Maggie/Glen storyline has faded. Remember when Glen was so much more prominent in the story? I hope that doesn’t mean he is a goner. He hasn’t had much to do but suffer lately.

Complete speculation on my part, I don’t read the comic or anything, but do you think Beth was lured into a trap back at the house with Daryl? She was caught and then experimented on? By whom? IDK. Their set up before she was kidnapped was so cozy. The preview scenes make it look like she was in a medical facility. (as opposed to being caught by the rapist/marauders who attacked the Termites and turned them bad).

Yeah, I think that house was a trap.

I have no clue what happened to Beth - actually, I was one of those people who thought that Beth had been captured by the Terminus people and then fed to Rick’s group. Obviously I was wrong!

I do think she was somehow lured into a trap back when she and Daryl were traveling together (and let me say - I was NOT a big fan of the potential Daryl-Beth relationship. Everyone knows it’s supposed to be Daryl-Carol). I can’t believe that Beth willingly left Daryl behind, especially because at the time she was also determined to find her sister. I never read the graphic novels, but I did see online that in the original story, Beth died in the prison.

When he was dying Bob told Rick it wasn’t a good idea to add people to the group. So… I think that someone we haven’t seen before is with Daryl. I’m not sure who. Maybe they are going to add another kid to the mix.

Well, as far as Daryl-Carol or Daryl-Beth; he seems too young for Carol and too old for Beth.
