Wannabe Med student

The SRACQ website is asking me ‘’ extract of birth ‘’ so i think they might need it. IM WRITING a sample of my excuse and explaination letter i will send it here

They want proof of your identity. An excuse is going to cut it. Ask what to do if you don’t have your birth certificate.

Yes they want the identityy of my mother and father maybe but i have problems with m yfather and he wont give me this paper… my mother is dead… i asked my town but they took wa ytoo long

Hello ALL! i hope that you are all good! I wanted to know
After my cegep, am i eligible ( if im good ) to integrate mcgill university medical school? Ive heard that they are proposing ‘’ mcgill med prepatory ‘’ which cegep students are eligible to got in

https://www.mcgill.ca/medadmissions/programs/med-p

What do you think?
I hope that, if i integrate a medical school in quebec, iwill be able to work in france as well.

https://www.mcgill.ca/medadmissions/applying/requirements/requirements-edu/med-p-requirements

Okay unfortunately no international students, even french students are accepted into this program. So there are no ways for me to go from a cegep to mcgill med directly?

So i guess it’s university of montreal then?

And also, i wanted to know, i dont understand lmedical studies in quebec. After cegep i have to apply for what? baccalaureate? ‘’ premeir cycle ‘’? i really dont know…

@MYOS1634 can i send you a sample?

Or i have to apply to ‘’ doctorate in medecine ‘’

The questions are too specialized for us on this website.

Email all the universities and ask whether one needs to be citizen or permanent resident if one is a CEGEP gradute. If it’s a requirement, then you’ll need to work for a while until you become a permanent resident. CEGEP degrees allow students to work and stay, if they find a job and work they can then apply for permanent residency.
As you know already, your path to med school isn’t straigtforward and easy.

Sure, send your statement.

Of course i totally understand that! But i still didnt understand the path :’(

Is it CEGEP - Med school ( UDEM,MCGILL) ?
Because i cant find the section on UDEM’s website where i have to applyy after my cegep.

I will email school as soon as possible to know if i have to be quebec/canadian resident to be eligible to apply to med school after a cegep… im traumatized

‘’ Pour être admissible, vous devez être titulaire, ou en voie de l’être, d’un diplôme d’études postsecondaires reconnu équivalent soit à un DEC soit à un baccalauréat universitaire obtenu au Québec, et avoir réussi, dans le délai prescrit, tous les cours préalables exigés des candidats québécois ou des cours équivalents. ‘’

→ That means that i have to do a cegep ( mandatory ) before applyying to UDEM MED! And its in the international student section! So i think UDEM is the onlyy university offering international students with cegep access to their med school!

Thank you so much again for taking time to read me!
Ive noticed that baie comeau is quite far away yfrom montreal, which isnt a problem for me. But the thing is that transporation may be hard no? I mean from airport to baie comeau it looks super hard! Is there any other cegep alternatives?

Take care!

Guys i applied:! Fingers crossed! I hope to have a positiv answer

Email Baie Comeau and ask them how international students get there. Yes it’s far from MOntreal that’s why it’s easier to get into. Which is good for you in two ways: less academic competition and better odds of admission!

Thank you so much! Im waiting my application results, should come in 2 weeks! I will keep writing there… This is maybe the beginning of a new adventure. If i come among the top students i think my application will be very strong since i just left everything from france to go to a little city ( baie comeau ) !

FINGERS CROSSED
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED ME IN THIS POST

HELLO EVERYONE!
I hope that you are doing very well! Stay safe!
I wanted to ask some questions beside of my application co CEGEPS.
As a boy who grew up in a quite big french town, im asking my self many questions about moving to little ‘’ cities ‘’ ( villages ) in Quebec.
For exemple baie comeau is little, very little but i wanted to know how can i adapt my self. Im scared to be lonely, to got depressed…

It’ll be a huge change.
I don’t think you’ll be bored since you’ll be working very very hard to be competitive for med school.
You can join one of the sports team: basketball, swimming (there’s a good indoor pool :p), rugby… There’s also an open mic night, a theater group. I just checked out the website and they list quite a few things, plus you can contact them.
You can also discover new activities: snowshoeing, iceclimbing, Nordic Skiing… and in early Fall or late Spring, sea kayaking, etc. There’ll be a movie theater at Baie Comeau and you can always email student representatives to ask them what they do for fun.

Hi ! Thanks for your answer! Im still waiting for the answer of my application! checking every single day

Fingers crossed! Do let us know
