Warwick Admissions

How difficult is it to get into the University of Warwick as a US student? If I meet the criteria listed on their website (AA*A) = 5,5,5) do I have a good shot? I’m looking at the Economics, Politics and International Studies program.

Overall, they give offers to 5 in 6 applicants (and that is including UK students). So, I imagine that since we pay tuition fees the offer rate will be even higher for overseas applicants.

Not many people apply there from my school since it’s not that well known, but everyone I know who has applied there, received an offer (and some definitely had worse stats than you) so I think you have a pretty good shot.

I think the only question is over math. I don’t think you’re doing Calc AP; they don’t insist on that as one of your APs but want you to have very good lower level math (equivalent of A* at GCSE which is the exam taken by UK students at 16. I suspect that’s going to translate to a certain score in the math part of your SAT, but can’t be certain.

If you meet the grades for UK universities for most courses, you tend to get an offer (Oxbridge aside). I would say your chances are good, but then I don’t know how much more competitive it is for international students - maybe send admissions an email?
