Washington U. in St Louis Class of 2028 Official Thread

Right.

Same here. My son got Deferred ED1 and hasn’t received an e-mail saying when decision comes out yet either.

My S24 apparently got the email but applied RD.

Sounds like there might have been some sort of glitch in their email system.

Is there anyone who still did not receive the email?

yes my son. he called yesterday and said that is weird he never got it. They did confirm the date RD is coming out as the 20th. They sent him a test e-mail and it worked. Anyway they told him dont worry they have him all in the system etc.

Huh, that’s really weird. Probably means nothing tho, we will see on the 20th if it actually meant something. Good luck!

HE was deferred ED1 to RD so maybe that has something to do with it. I dont know

Wouldn’t you rather start a new thread on this?

Are there any historical pattern on what time decisions are released? I know email said evening but curious if they consistently do it at a certain time.

ED1 released at 4:05 PM EST

I think they will work to avoid releasing after sundown - for religious purposes because they have operated in that fashion, on Fridays in the past.

Here is a negative signal: I just received a ipostcard to apply to a university called Le Verne. The only reason Le Verne would ever think of me (and think of me in mid-March) would be because of WashU’s engineering school’s partnership with a number of schools, including Le Verne. It is called the dual degree program. My understanding is that the student starts in one of these partner schools and then gets automatically admitted to WashU’s engineering school if the student meets a certain GPA/course load. Ultimately, the students graduates with a liberal arts degree from the partner school and an engineering degree from WashU. It sounds brilliant and much more cost effective. It is too bad that I am not interested in this option at all. I am only interested in starting in St Louis on day 1. It looks like that is not going to happen.

We were the opposite. S24 applied to Saint Mary’s 3+2 (the two being at WashU) because they gave him a fee waiver. He got in. Then WashU emailed him an fee waiver
That was basically the reason he applied. We have zero expectation he will get in, but free is free.

I am very skeptical WUSTL is sharing live information about where its applicants currently stand in their process with its 100+ 3+2 affiliates. In fact they are not even supposed to share applicant lists.

You might be right but I find it very peculiar that this particular school sent me an invitation this late in the process. I have never shown any interest in this school. Why did they decide to reach out to me this late in the process? I got a 35 in ACT so it was not the testing services thinking that I might be a good candidate for this school. WashU is very proud of their 3+2 effort (and they should be). Le Verne got my information from somewhere. Something made them think that it is worth spending money to send a postcard to someone in mid-March. I suspect that I will either get a rejection or a conditional admit - both cases would suggest I go to one of their partner schools and the one in my state is La Verne.
