Thank you so much @jarrett211 !!
2030 SAT (didn’t send) 33 ACT superscored and ACCEPTED into olin!! Very surprised
S called today to schedule preview day. They were so helpful in scheduling all aspects of the flight including saying they pay for the cab to and from the airport and meal voucher when you get there. They do hold to the 15 days ahead of time and would not let him schedule earlier. For students going to spring preview they said they will help arrange a host to stay with overnight but only on weeknights not on weekends.(son flying in on sunday). S waiting on 11 more decisions but hoping he picks Wash U. Loving this school! I can’t imagine any other school bending over backwards and paying for flights/cabs for RD students.
@lightsy also got in to Sam Fox!!
@jessfanfann Congrats!! I’m anticipating my financial aid package now…
Did anyone receive their UPS package yet? Did it include financial aid information?
@AcademicMom1 Hey, I didn’t apply for FA (international applicant) but I received my UPS package today, it contained an official letter, a few booklets and pamphlets one of which was about the cost of attending (but I don’t think it has anything to do with FA awards). Sorry if this wasn’t all that helpful!
@plzacceptmee wait they send a whole package, not just a letter???
@newjersey17 thank you so much! Where did you hear it was 14% acceptance? I’ve been trying to find that out for a while now! Trying to figure out why I was accepted over some of the other great candidates for the position.
@TheWaffleMan149 do you plan to go the Sam fox visit in April? Sounds like a great experience but I don’t know anyone else going…
@hcg100 I highly recommend that you visit if you haven’t seen WashU before. My D did exactly that and found that WashU fit her the best. If you do attend, make sure you do both tours - the campus tour and the sam fox tour. She actually wasn’t able to visit during the sam fox dates but she went another time. She had a one on one tour with the admissions/adviser of sam fox which took over an hour and half. She showed her two-three buildings and showed her the classrooms and she was a graduate student of washu. They talked nonstop and she was able to learn a lot.
Architecture is a very small class at WashU and that is common. I believe her class size was 55 as a freshman. Rice is even smaller 25. So when you take into consideration how hard it is to get into WashU - its even harder to get into Architecture if they only have 55 spots. That’s a common theme as to why it is so hard to get into Architecture at any top rated college - its because the class size is so tiny.
I’ve found this in case you are interested. https://wustl.edu/about/university-facts/#rankings
Many students apply to WashU - in the past it was over 29,000 applications for only 1,700 spots.
@hcg100 I signed up for it:) the multicultural weekend/sam fox tour
Do your parents come along for the Spring visit or the multicultural tour
They can if they want to. I did.
They are welcome to but wash u will not pay for their flight
To those of you who signed up for the sam fox tour/multicultural weekend for this April: are your parents coming with you or are you going alone?
My mom is going
@TheWaffleMan149 Does she love waffles too? :))
@desie1 That is a good question. I suppose that I must’ve obtained my affinity for waffles from someone!
So WashU will pay for our flight (not our parents) down to visit?
