WashU Waitlist Class of 2024

I just got the interest form, is anyone writing an update within the form? I sent an update to my admissions officer last week and then I just received the form. Should I add more information?

I got one today as well. Didn’t write a LOCI yet though. Do you know if this means we will most likely be accepted?

Can/should we paste LOCI content into the text box?

for those of you who got the letter today, are they still saying they will update you on your status and want your final decision by May 1?

Are you kidding me. I’ve been waiting for the entire week and still have yet to get admitted even after I got the interest form and WashU is now sending it to even more ppl what the actual hell

same ?

@audreykath yeah they will also be notified by May 1st, which means that either 1) we are no longer being considered for whatever reason WashU decides to pull out of it’s ass or 2) we will be considered with the next batch

yeah I feel like it’s still possible that we’ll hear back before May 1st. I actually emailed my admissions officer last Friday and he said that I would receive an update within the next “couple of days”. It’s already been a couple of days, but that still implies before May 1st. Frustrating :frowning:

@audreykath Did you tell WashU that u needed need-based aid in any way?

I sent in an LOCI on Tuesday to my AO and did not receive the form yet. Does this mean I have no chance in getting in :frowning:

@PathophysiologyFTW yes, did you? maybe that’s what’s causing a delay…?

My DS received an email couple of weeks back and sent the response same day. We are still waiting for a reply. I see that this week few more students have received an email. Does this or will this impact students who received email couple of weeks back. Anyone with prior experience please shed some light on this. Thank you!

@parishaadil did you submit a LOCI?

As mentioned earlier, on April 13 my son got the “Great News - your name has come up…” email about the wait list, where they ask if he is still insterested and that if he is, they will contact him with their decision shortly. He responded “yes” immediately and the next day sent a LOCI to admissions. He still hasn’t heard anything. And now it appears they are sending out a second tranche of “Great News” emails, without having gotten back to him. I don’t want to be negative, but this does not seem to be a good sign. If they have decided to decline his admission, I wish they would just let him know, so he can make his choice. He is disappointed with no follow up from WashU after the the hopeful-sounding “Great News” email. Right now his top choice among schools that accepted him is UofMich, and he just wants this decision to be made and doesn’t want to look back. Even if a WashU offer suddenly appears April 30, it may be hard to suddenly shift gears mentally again…

That’s exactly what happened to my D last year. She committed to her school on April 29th and then got off the Wash U waitlist on the 30th. She struggled with making the choice she made on the 29th but once made, she wasn’t interested in revisiting it.

@thriving123 Yes we did

@Greenghosty I agree with you completely. Why can’t they just let us know their decision instead of making kids wait for the response. As it is kids are really stressed with many other things, final exams, assignments, and preparing themselves for fall 2020. If we are informed of the decision it is one less thing to worry about.

@PrdMomto1 Most of these kids are really competitive with pretty good stats. I am sure your kid is doing very well wherever she is and wish her all the best.

Do you guys think that they will admit the second wave of people today? I know that for the first wave, they took people off the waitlist two days after they received the good news email.

I surely hope they do.
The deadline to respond is 9 am this morning. I guess the admission committee is having a meeting today to hand pick a small number from the 2nd wave, and send results around 5 pm. The waitlisters in 1st and 2nd waves who were not selected will still be considered if there are any spots left after May 1st. This is completely my wild wild guess :smile:
