Watch "Glee"

My bad because Quinn is a non player I thought her name was Gwen.

It is hard to see she is still pregnant because she is not up front in the story line, even more so the first song had all of the girls in corsets and she was one of them.

It seems as that story line has been dropped completely. I think they did not do a good job transitioning from last season to this season. It just seems as if they closed the book and started from scratch. I actually had respect for the show because they were addressing teen pregnancy from a realistic standpoint (peer pressure, family, and responsibility that a baby is not a bundle of love alone, but a financial bundle too)

Traditionally series will do a stronger arc to connect the two seasons. Rachel and Fin were over immediately, Quinn and Puck are not addresssing her pregnancy. So on and so forth. The only true arc are Sue and Will regarding the Glee club and Cheerios rivalry.

I am hoping that Kurt and Mercedes actually are going to be the break out this yr. I can only take Rachel in small doses, otherwise her character makes me FF through my TIVO.

As JHS said, the role of Rachel has always been the ‘breakout role’. The show was written around Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison. The other female characters will never get the facetime that Lea gets, even if they do put more focus on their storylines. It’s not surprising to me, at all, that they have stopped talking about Quinn’s pregnancy. Dropped storylines and character inconsistencies have been an issue since Glee started. Without the music, this show likely wouldn’t have made it past the pilot stage.

One of her lines in the scene where Rachel was hinting at her date with Jesse, referenced her baby, so , yes, she’s still pregnant.

I was thinking about the non-pregnant looking Quinn while watching this weeks show. She looked less pregnant on the other nights show then she did at the end of the season. I am also disappointed that they kind of dropped that story line.

Alwaysamom

I get your point about the show being created for these characters, however, if we look back at very successful ensemble shows we will see that the main character lost their lead due to the viewers.

Jennifer Aniston was never meant to be the break out role, nor was Matt LeBlanc. However, in the first yr they were the stars.

All In The Family never intended Sherman Hensley to be the star, but he did such a great job that he got the Jeffersons. Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers were never meant to take over the show.

Happy Days had Fonzie as a supporting role, and the Cumminghams were the main characters, but in the end Fonzie was the main role and the Cumminghams were supporting.

Different World, which spun off of the Cosby show had Lisa Bonet as the star the show was created for. Jasmine Guy (Whitley) was the reason it was a success.

The writers and producers may have their own vision, but true success for a show is if they listen and accept the viewers desires. I don’t think even through these pages that most GLEE Season 1 fans are happy with the direction of the show and feel that the emphasis on Rachel is the problem. I think most fans enjoyed the show because it was an ensemble. If this becomes all about Rachel and Fin I am a fan that will leave.

I must not watch the show as seriously as y’all do. When I watch it its like plot plot GREAT SUE ONE LINER plot plot AWESOME DUET plot plot FUNNY DUMB BRITTANY LINE plot plot GREAT ENSEMBLE MUSICAL NUMBER.

^^ what she said :D

I liked the show more last season because it was ONE LINER plot plot. Now it is PLOT PLOT one liner.

IMHO they are actually trying to make it into a dramady and lost sight of the fact that people tuned in to turn off their brains.

Although I didn’t care for the episode’s plot, & I don’t think I will ever get what Will sees in Emma I do love the one liners. I could watch the show just to listen to Sue Sylvester. Also it sounds like I am the not the only one who would like to see more of Mercedes/Brittany/Santana/Tina. The girl who plays Brittany is a terrific dancer. And I love to hear Mercedes sing.

Is Brittany the ditsy bonde cheerleader? Her lines crack me up! “Seriously, I think the cat is reading my diary”…

My son looked at me and said please tell me there is a girl named Cat and she really didn’t say I think my cat is reading my diary?

I said NO honey, she said my cat as in MEOW!

Sunnie, yeah, that’s Brittany. She cracks me up, too.

Didn’t Brittany have the misogynist line on this weeks episode? so funny.

“When I pulled my hamstring, I went to a misogynist.”

Too funny!

I loved tonight’s episode (except that it was cut off at the end because Idol went too long.) I loved the scenes with Finn and his mom and Kurt’s dad. I loved seeing Mercedes front and center. Seems like the folks running the show are realizing it shouldn’t be all Rachel all the time. She barely had any lines tonight which allowed other characters to really shine. I also liked that Quinn had more to say tonight and that she clearly looked pregnant.

I too think that they hit the mark with this episode. It was realistic in how they dealt with teenage issues, but they kept it light.

I love Kristen Chenoworth. If I could make it up to NYC I would love to see her on broadway.

I was happier with the themes in this episode. I liked the Kurt/Finn story, and Mercedes. I liked seeing Will and April get to sing together, but I missed the Glee ensemble numbers.

I also missed the ensemble numbers BUT when you have Kristen Chenoworth on the set…by all means, give her the stage!

I am enjoying the Kurt and Finn characters. All too often, teenage boys in movies/TV are depicted as extremes (tough, athletic, big presence or victim, weak). These two are strong but very vulnerable - much more realistic (except for the breaking-into-song-whenever-they-have-a-chance part)

I also liked that Finn’s problem with the relationship was not a homophobic reaction to having to be further involved with Kurt but rather, dealt with his feelings of replacing his dad.

I really liked tonight’s episode also. This show is just so much fun. Hearing Kristen sing was the icing on the cake. We may be able to swing a trip to New York this summer and if so will definitely go see Kristen in Promises Promises!

I love Kristen Chenoweth, but she had one too many numbers. And despite many frequent camera cuts to him, I wanted more Jonathan Groff!!
